PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGEThank you to everyone who attended one of the two town halls on August 4th. We had over 120 families attend!For those of you that could not make it, we are providing some resources for you to catch up on the updates we communicated. We covered the following topics.
● Student schedules and ECS priorities for this school year
● Previewed our new staff members● Food Distribution plan for the new year● Tech supports● Parent and student supports for the Fall● Communication plan

Important Dates
August 12th 5:30PMSummer Update Student
Town Hall. We will be providing updates to the
students via Zoom. Students will have an opportunity to
give feedback and ask questions. Because students cameras may be on, the town hall will not be streamed on
youtube, but you are welcome to join your child for the town
hall. Students have been emailed the link and invited
on Google Calendar.
Weds: August 19th 5:30PMECMS Gardena Town Hall with
updates for the 2020-2021 school year. We will host an
english and a spanish meeting at the same time in
an effort to shorten the length of the meetings.
Sat: August 22nd 10AMMakeup Bilingual ECMS Gardena Town Hall for
families that could not attend on Aug 19th. This session will
be bilingual.

LIMITED OFFICE HOURS MONDAY August 9th
All staff for Environmental Charter Schools will be in training and meetings
on Monday, August 9th. This includes our office staff and you may experience
slower response times as a result. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Food service will remain unchanged from 11:30-1:30PM
All students are expected to read Ghost Boys BEFORE the school year begins. Most of you have picked up the book already, but if you have not done so yet, please make time to come by and pick up the book. The book is provided at zero cost to you. Students will also be emailed the book as a PDF and have access to the audio version of the book in the event that picking up the book is impossible for you, however, we hope you would prefer that they stay off a screen for a bit as they read.
Book and Food Distribution happen simultaneously in our parking lot off of Menlo Ave.

Staff Training Begins!This past week, all new ECS
teachers engaged in 3 days of training and orientation.
Starting this week, all teachers and staff are back for two weeks for training and planning as we
prepare to offer the best possible distance learning
program available.

Actualización de Verano. Estaremos proporcionando
actualizaciones a los estudiantes a través de Zoom. Los estudiantes
tendrán la oportunidad de dar su opinión y hacer preguntas.
Debido a que las cámaras de los estudiantes pueden estar
encendidas, el ayuntamiento no se transmitirá en YouTube, pero
puede unirse a su hijo en el ayuntamiento. A los estudiantes se les ha enviado el enlace por correo electrónico y se les ha invitado en Google Calendar.

libro, pero si aún no lo ha hecho, tómese el tiempo de pasar y recoger el libro. El libro se proporciona sin costo alguno para usted. A los estudiantes también se les enviará el libro por correo electrónico como PDF y tendrán
acceso a la versión de audio del libro en caso de que sea imposible recoger el libro, sin embargo, esperamos que prefieran que se mantengan

La semana pasada, todos los maestros nuevos de ECS participaron en 3 días de capacitación y orientación. A partir de esta semana, todos los maestros y el personal regresan durante dos semanas para capacitarse y planificar mientras nos preparamos para ofrecer el mejor programa de aprendizaje a distancia posible disponible.
