LECTURAS DE HOY

Primera lectura — La hospitalidad genuina se alaba mu-cho (2 Reyes 4:8-11, 14-16a). Salmo — Proclamaré sin cesar la misericordia del Señor (Salmo 89 [88]). Segunda lectura — Están muertos al pecado por su bautis-mo en Cristo Jesús. Vivan para Dios en Cristo Jesús (Romanos 6:3-4, 8-11). Evangelio — No es digno de mí el que no toma su cruz para seguirme. El que los recibe a ustedes, a mí me recibe. (Mateo 10:37-42).

TODAY’S READINGS First Reading — Elisha promises a baby son to the hospi-table woman (2 Kings 4:8-11, 14-16a). Psalm — For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord (Psalm 89). Second Reading — We shall live in newness of life as Christ was raised from the dead (Romans 6:3-4, 8-11). Gospel — Whoever gives but a cup of cold water to anoth-er will surely be rewarded (Matthew 10:37-42).

Dear Brothers and Sisters, The kingdom of God is mysterious and can be found in this world. It is presence, growth and life. To grow in a relationship, a simple hello or smile to all makes life more bearable. Seeds scattered will yield a great harvest. Tiny seeds will grow into large plants. Words of encour-agement are seeds of hope. Saying “I am sorry” is a seed of forgiveness. Saying “I love you” is planting a special seed. As we enter into summer time and ordinary time, we hope to contin-ue to plant seeds of peace, hope, relationship and participation of all, especially our youth. Let us keep our hope and faith high.
