The Safety Manager coardinates accident prevention as it applies to all areas of the safety and health program, ThePro-ject Safety Manager reports directly to the SitelProject Manager and is not a part of the project's line organization Withthe exception of work performed withir their office, they do not exercise direct operational control of any project work

The Safety Manager shall keep a constatrt check ca the metbods used by superisors and employees to prevent safety vio-Iations. They have the authority to correct and instruct employees concerning the violation of safety rules and shall stopwork in situations cf imminent danger. Should the Safef Maaager witness an unsafe work situation, which requires theapplication ofthe project's disciplinarr'progra& they must brfury this tc the attenticn ofthe appropriate prcject srpervi-sor. The Safety Maneger may advise or recommend the 6pe of reprimand or discipline to be applied, but shall not administerthe discipline fhemselves, except for the serious safety violations requiring immediatc dismissaUtermination from fhe pro-ject as stated below. If appropri*te diseipline is not forthcoming the chain of command shall be fqllowed until appropriatecorrective measures tnd discipline result If satisfactory results are not achieyed after working through the Site Manager,the Safety Manager shall eontact fhe Projeet Safety Manager for resolution or further insfrrrctions.

Employecs will immediately be terminated frou the project site should they commit of the following serious eafety riola-tions:r Exeeeding the specifiedlpcsted speed limit on the projecl The maximum speed Limit on the project is 20

kilometers perhour.r Not complying with the Im%o faII protection and 1009/0 tieoffpolicy.

o Putting his live or the Iives of others at risk (imminent darger).

r Altercation (both parties will be dismisrcd).

o Disregarding barriers (unauthorized access into etr area marked as being unsafe cr unalthorized aceessinto an restricfed area)

o Violating peruit conditicns or performing wod( without a permit where an approved permit is needed.

e Energizing or de*nergizing a power source without proper authorization-

o Smoking in vehicleg offiees and any other unauthorized area
