Let’s start an everyday movement

This April sees the introduction of an exciting new play series from Children’s IKEA. Featuring equipment to juggle, balance, swing, or even do somersaults, the new play collection draws

influence from the skills and flair of the circus to inspire children to play, move and be more active while at home.

Specially designed as a collaboration between Children’s IKEA and the Swedish contemporary circus company Cirkus Cirkör,

the play collection is custom-made to make it exciting and engaging for kids to practice skills like balance,

concentration, coordination and social interaction, while helping to make the home a place of creativity and fun

- the possibilities are endless!

And the best thing about starting an everyday movement? It just starts with moving everyday.

Everyday movement GUNGGUNG swing

Custom designed to encourage children to play and move more indoors, new, circus-inspired GUNGGUNG swing brings a feeling of joyful movement to play at home.

Made with 100% polyester, and inspired by the sturdy equipment used for sailing, ice-hockey and professional acrobatics, Designer Tina Christensen explains:

“To get inspiration for GUNGGUNG swing and the new play series I worked with Swedish contemporary circus company Cirkus Cirkör to see where the inspiration took us. So uplifting! They were imagining movement and I was thinking products and equipment.”

GUNGGUNG swing is suitable for children over 3 years, and weight tested to 70kg. It can be hung to an appropriate weight bearing material using an EKORRE hook and can be used with a mat like PLUFSIG folding gym mat.

Designed to encourage movement, PLUFSIG folding gym mat protects the user from hurting themselves on an otherwise hard surface. Developed with the Swedish performance group Cirkus Cirkör, and adapted to be safe for use by children,designer Tina Christensen says:

“It’s always been my dream to design clubs that would be friendly for children. I love juggling because it helps you concentrate and be in the moment, and you can do it by yourself or in a big group.”

Colourful attention seekers DRIFTIG & OFFENTLIG Dinnerware

Inspired by colourful fruit and animal prints, DRIFTIG dinnerware adds a colourful splash to the dining table. Microwave and dishwasher safe, the ceramic table series comes with options for a bowl, plate and side plate, and can be supported by lots of IKEA products like OFFENTLIG tray or FÄRGRIK series.

With a bright modern pattern connecting the collection Designer Lisa Bengtsson explains;

“When I designed DRIFTIG and OFFENTLIG I wanted to create a series with a feeling for shape and pattern, which is why I took my inspiration from the fashion world. My idea was to blend food and fashion - so I looked for patterns in edible plants and developed them further. That’s how strawberry seeds for example became a leopard print and a kiwi became a beautiful fashion print. I hope the different patterns in the series exude playfulness and joy - and also feel exciting and contemporary to combine!”.

Clever cooking FÖRBLUFFAD Pot with lid

New FÖRBLUFFAD pots are designed to make cooking easier, working from the lid down.

Featuring a large, easy to grab handle and a tempered glass lid, the lid can be hooked onto the side of the pot, leaving the condensation in the pot rather than on the worktop. The lids also include a strainer and soft silicone grips to give a handy spot to place thumbs when draining liquids.

Made from thick-walled aluminium, coloured golden brown with a stainless steel base, FÖRBLUFFAD pots can be used on all hob types (including induction hobs) and distribute heat evenly. Teflon ® Select coating means the insides are non-stick and make for easy cleaning as well.
