O Allah I ask You to give me

from Your brilliance that

beautifies,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min

bah¡’ika bi-abh¡hu ائك بأبهاهني أسألك من بهإاللهم

and all Your glories are radiantly brilliant,

wa kullu bah¡’ika bahiyy وكل بهائك بهي، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your glories.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bibah¡’ika kullhi ني أسألك ببهائك كلهإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your majesty that gives grandeur,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min jal¡lika bi-ajallhi لك بأجلهالني أسألك من جإاللهم

and all Your majestic powers are strongly sublime;

wa kullu jal¡lika jal¢lun لك جليلالوكل ج، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your powers.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bijal¡lika kullhi لك كلهالني أسألك بجإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your refined good that makes more handsome,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min jam¡lika bi-ajmalihi ني أسألك من جمالك بأجملهإاللهم

and all Your refinements are gracefully beautiful;

wa kullu jam¡lika jam¢lun وكل جمالك جميل، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your beauties.

O Allah I beseech You to give me from Your light that enlightens,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min n£rika bi-anwarihi ني أسألك من نورك بأنورهإاللهم

and all Your enlightenments are luminously bright;

wa kullu n£rika nayyrun وكل نورك نير، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your lights.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bin£rika kullihi ني أسألك بنورك كلهإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your mercy that gives much,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min ra¦matika bi-awsaìh¡ ك بأوسعهاألك من رحمتني أسإاللهم

and all Your kind leniencies are plenteously many,

wa kullu ra¦matika w¡siàtun وكل رحمتك واسعة، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your compassions.

and all Your perfections are total and whole,

wa kullu kam¡lika k¡milun املوكل كمالك ك، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your perfections.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bikam¡lika kullihi ني أسألك بكمالك كلهإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your Words that elaborate and conclude;

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min kalim¡tika bi-atammh¡ ني أسألك من كلماتك بأتمهاإاللهم

and all Your words are complete and perfect;

wa kullu kalim¡tika t¡mmatun وكل كلماتك تامة، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your Words.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bikalim¡tika kullih¡ بكلماتك كلها ني أسألكإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your Names that make great,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min asm¡’ika bi-akbarih¡ ني أسألك من أسمائك بأكبرهاإاللهم

and all Your Names are important;

wa kullu asm¡’ika kab¢ratun بيرةوكل أسمائك ك،

and all Your authorities are rare and supreme,

wa kullu ìzzatika àz¢zatun وكل عزتك عزيزة، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your authorities.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka biìzzatika kullih¡ ني أسألك بعزتك كلهاإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your Will that (simultaneously) takes effect,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min mash¢-atika bi-am¤¡h¡ ي أسألك من مشيئتك بأمضاهانإاللهم

and all Your wills are (at once) executed;

wa kullu mash¢iatika m¡¤iyatun وكل مشيئتك ماضية، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your wills.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bimash¢-atika kullih¡ ني أسألك بمشيئتك كلهاإ اللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your that omnipotence which controls everything,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min qudratika bilqudrati allaty

asta§alta bih¡ àl¡ kulli shay‘in بالقـدرة ني أسألك مـن قـدرتك إاللهم

التي استطلت بها على كل شيءand at all events Your omnipotence dominates.

wa kullu qudratika musta§¢latun وكل قدرتك مستطيلة، O Allah I beseech You in the name of Your all-embracing omnipotence.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min ìlmika bi-anfadhihi ني أسألك من علمك بأنفذهإاللهم

and Your Wisdom is altogether effective,

wa kullu ìlmika n¡fidhun وكل علمك نافذ، O Allah I beseech You in the name of Your Wisdom.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka biìlmika kullihi ني أسألك بعلمك كلهإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your promise which always is fulfilled,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min qawlika bi-ar¤¡hu ك من قولك بأرضاهني أسألإاللهم

and all Your promises are kept and fulfilled,

wa kullu qawlika ra¤iyyun ،وكل قولك رضي O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your promises.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka biqawlika kullihi ني أسألك بقولك كلهإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your Channels which are most dear to You,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min mas¡’ilika bi-a¦abbh¡ ilayka

ـ إاللهم ن مسـائلك بأحبهـا ني أسألك م

ليكإand all that which is dear to You is most desirable,

wa kullu mas¡’ilika ilayka ¦ab¢batun ليك حبيبة،إوكل مسائلك

O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your Channels.

.وعدتني ي كمالO Allah I ask You to give me from Your distinctions that vie in glory,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min sharafika bi-ashrafihi ني أسألك من شرفك بأشرفهإاللهم

and all Your distinctions are noble;

wa kullu sharafika shar¢fun ،وكل شرفك شريف O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your distinctions.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bisharafika kullihi ني أسألك بشرفك كلهإاللهم.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your sovereignty which lasts and continues forever,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min sul§¡nika bi-adwamihi ني أسألك من سلطانك بأدومهإاللهم

and for all times Your sovereignty is everlasting;

wa kullu sul§¡nika d¡’imun ،وكل سلطانك دائم O Allah I beseech You in the name of Your absolute sovereignty.

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your kingdom that

and Your eminence is altogether sublime;

wa kullu àl¡’ika `¡lin عال، عالءكوكل O Allah I beseech You in the name of Your highest sublimeness.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka biàl¡’ika kullihi كله. عالءكني أسألك بإاللهم

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your bounties which always move ahead, come in advance,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min mannka bi-aqdamihi ني أسألك من منك بأقدمهإاللهم

and all Your bounties are eternal,

wa kullu mannka qad¢mun ،وكل منك قديم O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your bounties.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bimannka kullihi ني أسألك بمنك كله.إاللهم

O Allah I ask You to give me from Your signs; the most wonderful of them,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min ¡y¡tika bi-a`jabih¡ بهابأعجني أسألك من آياتك إاللهم

and all Your signs are wonderful;

wa kullu ¡y¡tika àj¢batun عجيبةوكل آياتك، O Allah I beseech You in the name of all Your signs,

.وعدتني لي كماO Allah: I beseech You to grant me from the best of Your favors;

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min fa¤lika bi-af¤alihi ني أسألك من فضلك بأفضلهإاللهم

and all Your favors are excellent. wa kullu fa¤lika f¡¤ilun ،وكل فضلك فاضل O Allah: I beseech You in the name of Your whole favor.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bifa¤lika kullihi ني أسألك بفضلك كله.إاللهم

O Allah: I beseech You to grant me from the most widespread of Your sustenance;

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min rizqika bi-aàmmhi

مهاللهم إني أسألك من رزقك بأع

and all Your sustenance is widespread. wa kullu rizqika `¡mmun ،وكل رزقك عام O Allah: I beseech You in the name of Your whole sustenance.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka birizqika kullihi

اللهم إني أسألك برزقك كله.

O Allah: I beseech You to grant me from the most wholesome of Your bestowal;

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min à§¡’ika bi-ahna’ihi ني أسألك من عطائك بأهنئهإاللهم

and Your entire bestowal is wholesome. wa kullu à§¡’ika han¢‘ ،وكل عطائك هنيء O Allah: I beseech You in the name of Your entire bestowal.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bià§¡’ika kullihi ني أسألك بعطائك كله.إاللهم

O Allah: I beseech You to grant me from Your most instant welfare;

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min khayrika bi-a`jalihi ني أسألك من خيرك بأعجلهإاللهم

and Your entire welfare is instant. wa kullu khayrika `¡jilun ،وكل خيرك عاجل O Allah: I beseech You in the name of Your entire welfare.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bikhayrika kullihi ني أسألك بخيرك كله.إم الله

O Allah: I beseech You to grant me from You most excellent benevolence;

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka min i¦s¡nika bi-a¦sanihi حسانك بأحسنهإني أسألك من إاللهم

and Your entire benevolence is excellent. wa kullu i¦s¡nika ¦asanun حسانك حسن،إوكل O Allah: I beseech You in the name of Your entire benevolence.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bii¦s¡nika kullihi حسانك كله.إني أسألك بإاللهم

O Allah: I beseech You in the name of all that through which You may respond to me if I beseech You;

ني أسألك بما تجيبني بـه حـين إاللهم

أسألك،Yes, I have besought You, O Allah.

naàm daàwtuka y¡ all¡hu هللايا ا كوتعد معن، O Allah: (I beseech You) in the name of all authorities and powers that You enjoy.

all¡humma bim¡ anta f¢hi mina alshshu’£ni wal-jabar£ti

بروتوالج ؤوناللهم بما أنت فيه من الش

O Allah: I beseech You in the name of all of Your authorities and powers.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bisha’nika wa jabar£tika kullih¡

هالك كروتبجو كأنشب كألي أسإن مهللا

O Allah: I ask You to give me whereby You gives answer to my supplication whenever I turn to You,

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bim¡ tuj¢buny bihi ¦¢na as’aluka bih

اللهم إني أسألك بما تجيبني بـه حـين

به أسألكSo, (please) respond to me, O Allah.

fa-ajibny y¡ all¡hu فأجبني يا الله Send blessings on Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad

O Allah: send blessings on Mu¦ammad and the Family of Mu¦ammad

¡Wabàthn¢ àl على االيمان بك،ابعثني و al’¢m¡ni bika and resurrect me abiding by the believing in You,

wal-tta¥d¢qi biras£lika giving credence to Your والتصديق برسولك،Messenger,

عليهمـا والوالية لعلي بن أبي طالـب

،السالم

wal-wil¡yati liàliyyi bni aby §¡libin àlayhim¡ alssal¡mu

being faithful to Àl¢ ibn Ab£-±¡lib—peace be upon both of them;

واإلئتمام باألئمة من آل محمدwal-i’tim¡mi bil-a’immati min ¡li

mu¦ammadin being following the (Divinely commissioned) leadership of the Imams from the Household of Mu¦ammad

.wal-bar¡‘ati min àduwwihim And disavowing their enemy والبراءة من عدوهم،

¡fa’inn¢ qad ra¤¢tu y ذلك،فإني قد رضيت يا ربي ب rabby bidhlika

My Lord, I have accepted such.

اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمدall¡humma ¥alli ‘al¡ mu¦ammadin wa-¡li

mu¦ammad(in)

O Allah: send blessings on Mu¦ammad and the Family of Mu¦ammad

،ةنالجو كوانضر :ريلخا ريخ كألأسوwa as’aluka khayral-khayri

ri¤w¡naka wal-jannata And I beseech You for the best of the goodness: Your pleasure and Paradise;

ـ نم كب وذأعو ـ رش ـ :رالش كطخس

wa a`£dhu bika min sharri alshsharri sakha§ika wann¡ri

And I seek Your protection against the most evil of the evil: Your wrath and Hellfire.


اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد،all¡humma ¥alli àl¡

mu¦ammdin w¡li mu¦ammdin , O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad;

w¡¦fazhniy min kulli mu¥i¢batin ،ةيلب لكو ةيبصم لك ني منظفاحوwakulli baliyyatin,

And safeguard me against all misfortunes and all ordeals

wamin kulli ùq£batin, And all punishments ،ةقوبع لك نمو

wamin kulli fitnatin, And all seditious matters ،ةنتف لك نمو

wamin kulli bal¡‘in, And all trials ،الءب لك نمو

wamin kulli sharrin, And all evils ،رش لك نمو

wamin kulli makr£hin, And all tribulations ،روهكم لك نمو

wamin kulli mu¥i¢batin, And all misfortunes ،ةيبصم لك نمو

wamin kulli ¡fatin, And all catastrophes ،ةآف لك نمو

ضإلـى األر ماءالس نم لزنأو ت تلزن

،ةاعالس هفي هذ

nazalat aw tanzilu mina alssam¡‘i il¢ alar¤i fy hdhihi

alss¡àti,

That have already or will ascend from the heavens to the earth at this very hour,

wafy hdhihi alllaylati, And at this night ،ةليالل هفي هذو

¡wafy hdh ،موفي هذا اليو al¢awmi, And on this day

¡wafy hdh ،رهفي هذا الشو alshshahri, And in this month

.wafy hdhihi alssanati. And in this year .ةنالس هفي هذو

اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد،all¡humma ¥all àl¡

mu¦ammdin w¡li mu¦ammdin, O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad;

w¡qsim ly min kulli sur£rin, And decide for me a portion ،رورس لك ني مل مساقوfrom all pleasant things,

wamin kulli bahjatin, And all joys ،ةجهب لك نمو

wamin kulli astiq¡matin, And all straightness ،ةقامتاس لك نمو

wamin kulli farajin, And all relief ،جرف لك نمو

wamin kulli `¡fiyatin, And all well-being ،ةيعاف لك نمو

wamin kulli sal¡matin, And all safety ،ةالمس لك نمو

wamin kulli kar¡matin, And all honor ،ةرامك لك نمو

،بيط اللح عواس قزر لك نموwamin kulli rizqin w¡siìn

¦al¡lin §ayyibin, And all items of sustenance that is expansive, legally gotten, and pleasant

wamin kulli ni`matin, And all graces ،ةمعن لك نمو


wamin kulli ¦asanatin, And all advantageous things ،ةنسح لك نمو

ضإلـى األر ماءالس نم لزنأو ت تلزن

ةاعالس هفي هذ

nazalat aw tanzilu mina alssam¡‘i il¢ alar¤i fy hdhihi

alss¡àti

That have already or will ascend from the heavens to the earth at this very hour,

wafy hdhihi alllaylati, And at this night ،ةليالل هفي هذو

¡wafy hdh ،موفي هذا اليو al¢awmi, And on this day

¡wafy hdh ،رهفي هذا الشو alshshahri, And in this month

.wafy hdhihi alssanati. And in this year .ةنالس هفي هذو

ـ إن مهللا ـ ذ تكان ـ لأخ دنـوبي ق تق

،كدنع يهجو

¡alllhumma in k¡nat dhun£by qad akhlaqat wajhi¢a ìndaka,

O Allah: If my sins have deformed my face in Your view

wa¦¡lat bayny wabaynaka, And have thus cut the path ،كنيبيني وب تحالوtaking me to You

aw ghayyarat ¦¡ly ìndaka, And have changed my status ،كدنالي عح تريغ أوwith You,

ذي ال ريمالك كهجو نورب كألي أسنإف

أ،فطي مل

fainny asaluka bin£ri wajhika alkar¢mi alladhy lam yu§fa’,

Then, I beseech You in the name of the Light of Your Magnanimous Face that is never extinguished,

فى،طصمال دمحم كيببح هجوبوwabi£ajhi ¦abi¢bika

mu¦ammadin almu¥§af¢, And in the name of the face of Your Chosen Prophet, Mu¦ammad,

wabi£ajhi wali¢¢ika àli¢¢in ضى،ترمال يلع كيلو هجوبوalmurta¤¢,

And in the name of the face of Your well-pleased servant, Àl¢,

،مهتبجتان ذينال كيائلأو قحبوwabi¦aqqi awliy¡’ika alladh¢na

antajabtahum, And in the name of Your intimate servants that You have selected,

،دمحم آلو دمحلى مع يلصت أنan tu¥alli¢a àl¢ mu¦ammadin

w¡li mu¦ammadin, (I beseech You) that You send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

دا،لما وو يدوالللي و رفغت أنوWa’an taghfira ly wali£¡lidayya

wam¡ walad¡, And forgive for me, for my parents, and for all their offspring

walilmuu´min¢na ،ناتؤمالمو نينمؤلملوw¡lmuu´min¡ti,

And forgive for the believing men and women

¡wam دوا،والما تو taw¡lad£¡, And for all their offspring

¡dhun£ban ا،هلنا كنوبذ kullah¡, All our sins,

¡agh¢rah¥ ها،بيركها وغيرص wakab¢rah¡, Including the insignificant and the major,

¡wa'an takhtima lan ،حاتالالصنا بل متخت أنوbi¡l¥¥¡li¦¡ti,

And that You seal our lives with righteous deeds,

¡wa'an taq¤i¢a lan ،اتمهالمو اجاتالح نال يضقت أنو al¦¡j¡ti w¡lmuhimm¡ti,

And that You settle our needs and important desires,


،ةلأسالمو عاءالد حصالوwa¥¡li¦a alddu`¡‘i w¡lmas’alati, And that You respond to us our

well-intended prayers and requests;

,f¡stajib lan¡, So, (please), respond to us نا،ل بجتاسف

bi¦aqqi mu¦ammadin w¡lihi. In the name of Mu¦ammad and .هآلو دمحم قحبhis Household.

اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد،all¡humma ¥all àl¡

mu¦ammdin w¡li mu¦ammdin , O Allah: (please) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

m¢na ¡m¢na ¡m¢na, (please) respond; (please)¡ ،آمين آمين آمينrespond; (please) respond;

¡m ،كان اهللا ما شاء sh¡‘a allhu k¡na, Only that which Allah wills shall come to pass.

¡l¡ ¦awla wal ،باهللا إال ةوال قو ولال ح quwwata ill¡b¡ll¡hi,

There is no power and no might except with Allah.

سبحان ربك رب العزة عما يصفون،sub¦¡na rabbika rabbi alìzzati

àmm¡ ya¥ifuwna, Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe.

wasal¡mun àl¡ almursali¢na And peace be on the .وسالم على المرسلينmessengers.

wal¦amdu lillahi rabbi والحمد لله رب العالمين.al`¡lami¢na.

And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

You may then extend both your hands, incline your neck to your left shoulder, and weep or try to weep, saying:

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta O He but Whom there is no god يا ال إله إال أنت

asaluka bi¦aqqi man ¦aqquhu ،ظيمع كيلع هقح نم قحب كألأسàlayka àzh¢mun,

I beseech You in the name of those whose names enjoy a great regard with You

,bil¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta ،تأن إال ال إلهبAnd in the name of there is no god save You

يا ال إلـه تأن إال ال إله هاءبب كألأس

،تأن إالasaluka bibah¡‘i l¡ il¡ha ill¡

anta y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta,

I beseech You in the name of the luminosity of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إله تأن إال ال إله اللجب كألأس

،تأن إالasaluka bijal¡li l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta,

I beseech You in the name of the majesty of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إله تأن إال ال إله مالجب كألأس

.تأن إالasaluka bijam¡li l¡ il¡ha ill¡

anta y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta.

I beseech You in the name of the splendor of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إلـه تأن إال ال إله نورب كألأس

،تأن إالasaluka bin£ri l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta,

I beseech You in the name of the light of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إله تأن إال ال إله مالكب كألأس

،تأن إالasaluka bikam¡li l¡ il¡ha ill¡

anta y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta,

I beseech You in the name of the excellency of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god


يا ال إلـه تأن إال ال إله ةزعب كألأس

تأن إالasaluka biìzzati l¡ il¡ha ill¡

anta y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

I beseech You in the name of the honor of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إلـه تأن إال ال إله مظعب كألأس

تأن إالasaluka biìzhami l¡ ilha ill¡


I beseech You in the name of the grandeur of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

إلـه يا ال تأن إال ال إله ولقب كألأس

تأن إالasaluka biqawli l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

I beseech You in the name of the saying of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إله تأن إال ال إله فرشب كألأس

تأن إالasaluka bisharafi l¡ il¡ha ill¡


I beseech You in the name of the dignity of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

يا ال إلـه تأن إال ال إله الءعب كألأس

تأن إالasaluka biàl¡‘i l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

I beseech You in the name of the elevation of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

إال يـا ال إلـه تأن إال ال إلهب كألأس

تأنasaluka bil¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta y¡ l¡

il¡ha ill¡ anta

I beseech You in the name of there is no god save You, O He save Whom there is no god

¡y¡ rabb¡hu y …اهبيا ر اهبيا ر اهبيا ر rabb¡hu y¡rabb¡hu…

O my Lord; O my Lord; O my Lord

You may keep on repeating this word as much as one breath can take.

As you extend your hand and incline your neck to your left shoulder, you may say the following:

:as'aluka y¡ sayyid¢I beseech You; O my Master أسألك يا سيدي

You may repeat the following statement as much as one breath can take:

:y¡ all¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu O Allah; O my Lord اهبيا ر هللاا ايYou may then continue:

¡y¡ sayyid¡hu y¡ mawl¡hu y ،آهجليا م ياثاهيا غ والهيا م داهييا سghiy¡th¡hu y¡ malja-¡hu

O my Master; O my Lord: O my Aide; O my Shelter;

y¡ muntah¡ gh¡yati raghbat¡hu O the Ultimate goal of my all ،تاهبغر ةهى غاينتيا مdesires;

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na O the Most Merciful of all ،ميناحالر محأر ياthose who show mercy;

as'aluka falaysa kamithlika ،يءش كلثمك سيلف كألأسshay’un

I beseech You, for nothing is like You

عـاك د ةجابتسم ةوعد لكب كألأسو

،برقم كلم أو لسرم يبها نب

wa as’aluka bikulli da`watin mustaj¡batin da`¡ka bih¡

nabiyyun mursalun aw malakun muqarrabun

And I beseech You with every responded prayer that has been addressed to You by a missioned Prophet or a favorite angel

،إليمانل هبلق تنحتام نؤمم دبع أوaw àbdun mu’minun imta¦anta

qalbah£ lil-¢m¡ni Or a faithful servant (of You) whose heart has been tried by You to carry faith

wastajabta da`watah£ minhu And then You responded to his ،هنم هتوعد تبجتاسوprayer.


ـ إل هجوأتو ـ حمب كي ـ بن دم ـ ن كي يب

،ةمحالر

wa atawajjahu ilayka bimu¦ammadin nabiyyika

nabiyyi alrra¦mati

I turn my face towards You asking You in the name of Your Prophet, Mu¦ammad, the Prophet of mercy

جي.وائح يدي نيب همدقأوwa uqaddimuh£ bayna yaday

¦aw’ij¢ And I seek his intercession before You for the sake of Your settlement of my need

y¡ mu¦ammadu y¡ ras£lal-ll¡hi O Mu¦ammad: O the ،اهللا سوليا ر دمحيا مMessenger of Allah;

ـ إلـى ر كب هجوتي أماو تأبي أنب كب

ي،برو

bi-ab¢ anta wa-umm¢ atawajjahu bika il¡ rabbika wa rabb¢

May Allah accept my father and mother as ransoms for you! In your name do I turn my and your Lord;

جي،وائح يدي نيب كمدقأوwa uqaddimuka bayna yaday

¦aw’ij¢ And I seek your intercession for the sake of the Lord’s settling my needs.

¡y¡ rabb¡hu y¡ rabb¡hu y ،اهبا ري اهبا ري اهبا ريrabb¡hu

O my Lord; O my Lord; O my Lord;

,as'aluka bika I beseech You by Your sake ،كب كألأس

.falaysa kamithlika shay’un For there is nothing like You ،يءش كلثمك سيلف

،كبيبح دمحمب كيإل هجوتأوwa atawajjahu ilayka

bimu¦ammadin ¦ab¢bika And I turn my face towards You, asking You in the name of Muhammad, Your most beloved one,

wa biìtratihil-h¡diyati And in the name of his ،ةيالهاد هترتعبوoffspring—the guide ones,

جي.وائح يدي نيم بهمدقأوwa uqaddimuhum bayna yaday

¦aw¡’ij¢ And I seek their intercession for the sake of Your settling my needs.

،موتتي ال تال كياتحب مهالل كألأسوwa as’aluka all¡humma

bi¦ay¡tika allaty l¡ tam£tu And I beseech You in the name of Your everl-ivingness, since You never dies,

،أفطذي ال يال كهجو نوربوwabin£ri wajhika alladhy l¡

yu§fa’u And in the name of the Light of Your Face that is never extinguished

wa biàynika allaty l¡ tan¡mu And in the name of Your Eye ،نامتي ال تال كنيعبوthat never sleeps

،ظيمع كيلع هقح نم قحب كألأسوasaluka bi¦aqqi man ¦aqquhu

àlayka àzh¢mun I beseech You in the name of those whose names enjoy a great regard with You

،دمحم آلو دمحلى مع يلصت أنan tu¥alli¢a àl¢ mu¦ammadin

w¡li mu¦ammadin, That You may send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

,qabla kulli shay’in Before everything يءش لك لبق

,wa ba`da kulli shay’in And after everything شيء لك دعبو

,wa àdada kulli shay’in And as many as all things شيء لك ددعو

,wa zinata kulli shay’in And as weighty as all things شيء لك ةنزو


wa mil’a kulli shay’in And as full as all things يءش لك ءلمو

ـ إن مهللا ـ ت أن كألي أس لـى ع يلص

فى،طصالم كدبع دمحم

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka an tu¥alliya àl¡ mu¦ammadin

àbdika almu¥§af¡

O Allah: I beseech You to send blessings upon Mu¦ammad—Your chosen servant

wa ras£lika almurta¤¡ And Your well-pleased ضى،ترالم كسولروMessenger

وند كجيبــنطفى وصــالم كمينــأو

،كقلخ

wa am¢nika almu¥§af¡ wa naj¢bika d£na khalqika

And Your Chosen Trustee and Your selected one among all Your creatures,

ــحو ــريخو كبيب ــ كت ــلخ نم كق

،عينمأج

wa¦ab¢bika wakhiyaratika min khalqika ajma`¢n

And Your most beloved one, and Your elect among all Your beings.

،نيرالم اجرالس شيرالب ذيرالنalnnadh¢ri albash¢ri alssir¡ji

almun¢r The Warner, the Bearer of good tidings, and the luminous lantern.

ـ بـين يالط هيتب للى أهعو ريناهالط

رار،األب ياراألخ رينهطالم

wa àl¡ ahli baytihi al§§ayyib¢na al§§¡hir¢na al-akhy¡ri al-abr¡ri

And upon his Household—the pure, the immaculate, the purified, the virtuous, and the pious,

وعلى مالئكتك الذين استخلصـتهم

لنفسك وحجبتهم عن خلقك

wa àl¡ mal¡’ikatika alladh¢na istakhla¥tahum linafsika wa ¦ajabtahum àn khalqika

And upon Your angels whom You have chosen for Yourself and screened from Your creatures,

وعلى أنبيائك الذين ينبئون بالصدق

عنك،

wa àl¡ anbiy¡’ika alladh¢na yunabbi’£na bil¥¥idqi ànka

And upon Your Prophets who convey truly from You

wa àl¡ ìb¡dika al¥¥¡li¦¢naAnd upon Your righteous وعلى عبادك الصالحينservants,

¢alladh¢na adkhaltahum f ،كتمحفي ر مهتلخأد ذينلاra¦matika

Whom You have included with Your mercy;

ــألئا ــهالم ةمـ ــالر دينتـ ديناشـ

،رينهطالم

al-a’immati almuhtad¢na alrr¡shid¢na almu§ahhar¢na

The leaders, the well-guided, the orthodox, the purified,

،يلرافإسو يلميكائو يئلربلى جعوwa àl¡ jibra’¢la wa m¢k¡’¢la wa

isr¡f¢la And upon (Archangels) Gabriel, and Michael, and Isr¡f¢l,

،ةنالج نخاز وانضرو تومال كلموwa malakil-mawti wa ri¤w¡na

kh¡zinil-jin¡ni And the Angel of Death, and Ri¤w¡n the doorkeeper of Paradise,

wa m¡likin kh¡zinin-n¡riAnd M¡lik the doorkeeper of ،ارالن نازخ كمالوHell,

walrr£¦il-qudusiAnd the Holy Spirit ،سدالق وحالرو

wa ¦amalatil-àrshi wa ،كيرنو ركنمو شرعال ةلمحوmunkarin wa nak¢rin

And the Bearers of the (Divine) Throne, and Munkar and Nak¢r

wa àl¡ almalakayni al¦¡fiäyni ،ليوعلى الملكين الحافظين عàlayya

And the two angels whom are in charge of supervising me


ـ ت بالصالة التـي تحـب أن هـا ب يلص

،مهيلع

bil¥¥al¡ri allat¢ tu¦ibbu an tu¥alliya bih¡ àlayhim

(please bless them all) with the blessing that You like to bless them with;

ـ يط ةثيـر ك الةص ـ بارم ةب ـ زاك ةك ةي

،ةينام

¥alatan kath¢ratan §ayyibatan mub¡rakatan z¡kiyatan

n¡miyatan

(Let it be) a blessing that is abundant, pure, holy, genuine, growing,

hiratan shar¢fatan f¡¤ilatandeep, honorable, and virtuous¡§ ،ةلفاض ةريفش ةرطاه

ــين تبــين بهــا فضــلهم علــى األول

.واآلخرين

tubayyinu bih¡ fa¤lahum àl¡al-awwal¢na wal-¡khir¢na

through which You obviously demonstrate their precedence over the past and the coming generations.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka an ،أن تسمع صوتي اللهم إني أسألكtasmaà ¥awt¢

O Allah: I beseech You to hear my voice,

,wa tuj¢ba da`wat¢And to respond to my prayer ،وتجيب دعوتي

,wa taghfira dhun£b¢And to forgive my sins ،وتغفر ذنوبي

wa tunji¦a §alibat¢And to give success to my ،وتنجح طلبتيprayer,

,wa taq¤iya ¦¡j¡t¢And to settle my needs ،تياوتقضي حاج

wa taqbala qi¥¥at¢And to accept my excuses ي،تصق لبقتو

¡wa tunjiza l¢ m ي،نتدعما و لي زجنتو waàdtan¢And to fulfill Your promise to me,

,wa tuq¢lan¢ àthrat¢And to let off my offense تي،رثني عقيلتو

,wa tataj¡waza àn kha§¢’at¢And to overlook my sins ،وتتجاوز عن خطيئتي

,wa ta¥fa¦a àn ülm¢And to excuse my wrongdoings ،وتصفح عن ظلمي

,wa ta`fwa àn jurm¢And to pardon my evildoings ،وتعفو عن جرمي

wa tuqbila àlayyaAnd to be always present for ،وتقبل عليme

¡wa l ،وال تعرض عني tu`ri¤a ànn¢And never reject me

¡wa tar¦amany wa l ،وترحمني وال تعذبنيtuàdhdhiban¢

And to have mercy upon me and not to punish me,

¡wa tu`¡fiyany wa l ،وتعافيني وال تبتليني tabtaliyan¢And to grant me good health and not to afflict me,

،زق أطيبه وأوسعهوترزقني من الرwa tarzuqany mina alrrzqi a§iyabahu wa awsaàhu

And to grant me from the nicest and most extensive sustenance

wa ahna’ah£ wa amra’ah£And most pleasant and most ،هأرمأو هأنأهوwholesome

wa asbaghah£ wa akhtharah£And most plentiful and most .هرثأكو هغبسأوabundant

تي،أمانيني ود بني يا رمرحال توwa l¡ ta¦rimn¢ y¡ rabbi d¢n¢ wa

am¡nat¢ And not to deprive me, O my Lord, of my faith and belief trusted with me


wa ¤a` ànn¢ wizr¢And (please) relieve me of my ري،زي ونع عضوburdens;

لي به،طاقة ني ما ال لمحال توwa l¡ tu¦ammilny m¡ l¡ §¡qata

l¢ bihi and do not impose on me that which I have not the strength to bear.

¡y ،والييا م mawl¡yaO my Master;

ـ خأد ريخ لني في كلخأدو فيـه تل

،دمحم آلو دامحم

wa adkhilny f¢ kull khayrin adkhalta f¢hi mu¦ammadan wa

¡la mu¦ammadin

And (please do) include me with every good item that You have chosen from Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

ـ نني مجرأخو ـ سـوء لك مهتجرأخ

،هنم

wa akhrijny min kulli s£‘in akhrajtahum minhu

and take me out of any evil from which You have saved them

ـ رط مهنيبني ويب قرفال تو ـ ةف نيع

.ةرخاآليا ونفي الد داأب

wa l¡ tufarriq bayn¢ wa baynahum §arfata àynin

abadan fidduny¡ wal-¡khirati

And never separate me from them for even a twinkling of an eye neither in this worldly life nor in the Hereafter.

اللهم إني أدعوك كما أمرتني وعدتني. فاستجب لي كما

all¡humma inn¢ ad`£ka kam¡ amartany fastajib l¢ kam¡ waàdtan¢








all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka qal¢lan اللهم إني أسألك قليال من كثيرmin kath¢rin

O Allah, I ask You for a little from the very much,

ع حاجة بي إليه عظيمة،مmaà ¦¡jatin by ilayhi à¨¢matin in the midst of my many needs

for which I entirely depend on You,

wa ghin¡ka ànhu qad¢mun and You, since eternity, are وغناك عنه قديم،able to do without them,

wa huwa ìndy kath¢run but for me it is titanic كثير،وهو عندي

فامنن به علي إنك على كـل شـيء

.قدير

famnun bihi àlayya innaka àl¡ kulli shay‘in qad¢run

So, (please do) bestow upon me with them, for You have power over all things.

ــم ــالحين الله ــي الص ــك ف برحمت

فأدخلنا،

all¡humma bira¦matika f¢ al¥¥¡li¦¢na fa-adkhiln¡

O Allah: (please do) include us with the righteous ones, out of Your mercy.

wa f¢ ìlliyy¢na farfa`n¡And uplift us to the rank of وفي عليين فارفعنا،ìlliyy¢n (most elevated rank).

وبكأس من معين من عين سلسـبيل wa bikasin min ma`¢nin min

àynin salsab¢lin fasqin¡ And serve us with water running out of spring of Salsab¢l.


فاسقنا،

ا،ومن الحور العين برحمتك فزوجنwa mina al¦£ri al`¢ni

bira¦matika fazawwijn¡ And, out of Your mercy, give us as wives the women of Paradise.

ومن الولدان المخلدين كـأنهم لؤلـؤ

مكنون فأخدمنا،

wa mina alwild¡ni almukhalld¢na ka-annahum lu´luún

makn£nun fa-akhdimn¡

And make the Paradisiacal youths who never alter in age and who are like hidden pearls serve us.

ــر ــوم الطي ــة ولح ــار الجن ــن ثم وم

فأطعمنا،

wa min thim¡ri aljannati wa lu¦£mi al§§¢ri fa§ìmn¡

And give us food from the fruits of Paradise and from the meat of birds there.

ــر ــندس والحري ــاب الس ــن ثي وم

واإلستبرق فألبسنا،

wa min thiy¡bi alssundusi wal-¦ar¢ri wal-istabraqi fa-albisn¡

And dress us from the clothes of fine and thick silk and rich brodace.

wa laylata alqadriAnd give us success to catch القدر، وليلةthe Grand Night

wa ¦ajj baytika al¦ar¡miThe pilgrimage to Your Holy وحج بيتك الحرام،House,

فوفق لنا،مع وليك في سبيلك وقتالwa qatlan f¢ sab¢lika maà

waliyyika fawaffiq lan¡ And the martyrdom in Your way under the pennon of Your Representative.

wa ¥¡li¦a aldd`¡‘i wal-masalati وصالح الدعاء والمسألة فاستجب لنا،f¡stajib lan¡

And respond to our goodly prayer and invocation.

نا،ل بجتاسو عمسا انقالا خيy¡ kh¡liqan¡ isma` wastajib

lan¡ O our Creator: (please) listen to (our prayer) and respond to us.

وإذا جمعت األولين واآلخـرين يـوم

القيامة فارحمنا،

wa idh¡ jama`ta al-awwal¢na wal-¡khir¢na yawma alqiy¡mati

far¦amn¡

And when You shall gather the past and the coming generations on the Resurrection Day, (please) have mercy upon us.

ـ أمانـا ووبراءة من النار ـ نم ذابالع

فاكتب لنا،

wa bar¡‘atan mina alnn¡ri wa am¡nan minal-`dh¡bi f¡ktub

lan¡

And (please) release us from Hellfire and secure us against the chastisement.

¡wa f¢ jahannama fal وفي جهنم فال تغلنا، taghullan¡And do not fetter us in Hell.

¡wa maà alshshay¡§¢ni fal ،قرناومع الشياطين فال تtaqrunn¡

And do not add us to the devils.

¡wa f¢ alnn¡ri àl وفي النار على وجوهنا فال تكببنا، wuj£hin¡ fal¡takbubn¡

And do not throw us down on our faces in Hellfire.

نا،بلقال تف كذابعو كوانفي هوwa f¢ haw¡nika wa àdh¡bika

fal¡ taqlubn¡ And do not make us turn over in Your humiliation and in Your chastisement.

wa mina alzzuqq£mi wal-¤¤ar¢ì ومن الزقوم والضريع فال تطعمنا،fal¡ tu§ìmn¡

And do not feed us from zaqq£m and thorns.

¡wa f¢ alnn¡ri àl وفي النار على وجوهنا فال تكببنا، wuj£hin¡ fal¡takbubn¡

And do not throw us down on our faces in Hellfire.

wa min th¢¡bi alnn¡ri wa sar¡b¢liومن ثياب النار وسرابيل القطران فال alqa§ir¡ni fal¡ tulbisn¡

And do not dress us from the clothes of fire and the shirts of


pitchl تلبسنا،

أنت بحق ال ومن كل سوء يا ال إله إال

أنت فنجنا. إله إال

wa min kulli s£‘in y¡ l¡ il¡ha ill¡anta bi¦aqqi l¡ il¡ha ill¡ anta

fanajjin¡

And save us from all evils; O there is no god save You, I beseech You in the name of there is no god save You.

،كلثم ألسي ملو كألإني أس مهللاall¡humma inn¢ as’aluka wa lam

yus’al mithluka O Allah: I am beseeching You, and there is none like You to be besought.

كلثإلى م بغري ملو كيإل بغأروwa arghabu ilayka wa lam

yurghab il¡ mithlika and to You do I desire, and there is none like You to be desired.

،لينائالس ةألسم عضوم تأن با ريy¡ rabbi anta maw¤iù mas’alati

alss¡’il¢na O my Lord: It is You Who is the object of the requests of the beseechers,

،ينباغالر ةبغهى رتنموwa muntah¡ raghbati

alrr¡ghib¢na and it is You Who is the ultimate goal of the desire of those who have desires.

ـ لضأفب مهالل كألأس هـا لك كمائأس

ها،حجأنو

as’aluka all¡humma bi-af¤ali asm¡’ika kullih¡ wa anja¦ih¡

I beseech You, O Allah, in the name of the best and the most effective of all Your (Excellent) Names

,y¡ all¡hu y¡ ra¦m¡nuO Allah; O the All-beneficent ،نامحيا ر هللايا ا

ـ الم كماسبو ـ الم زونخ ـ ونص زاألع

،واههتو هبحذي تال مظاألع لجاأل

wa bismika almakhz£ni alma¥£ni al-aàzzi al-ajalli al-a`ämi alladh¢ tu¦ibbuh£ wa

tahw¡hu

and I beseech You by Your Name—the sealed, the reserved, the mightiest, the loftiest, the greatest,; that You love and like,

wa tar¤¡ àmman da`¡ka bih¢and that You are pleased with ،هب عاكد نمضى عرتوhim who prays You by it,

wa tastaj¢bu lah£ du`¡’ah£and thus You answer his ،هعاءد هل جيبتستوprayers.

ــو ــلع قح ــا ر كي ــال ت أن بي مرح

wa ¦aqqa àlayka y¡ rabbi an l¡ ta¦rima s¡’ilaka

It is incumbent upon You, O Lord, that You never disappoint him who beseeches You.

،كل وه ماس لكب كألي أسإن مهللاall¡humma inn¢ as’aluka bikulli

ismin huwa laka O Allah: I do beseech You by every name that belongs to You,

da`¡ka bih¢ àbdun huwa lakaand by which a servant of You ،كل وه دبع هب عاكدhas prayed You

f¢ barrin aw ba¦rinin a land or in a sea ،رحب أو رفي ب

aw sahlin aw jabalinor in a plain or on a mountain ،لبج أو لهس أو

,aw ìnda baytika al¦ar¡mior at Your Sacred House ،رامالح كتيب دنع أو

fa ad`£ka y¡ rabbi du`¡’a man qad ishtaddat f¡qatuh

So, I beseech You, O my Lord, the beseeching of him whose neediness is great


wa àüma jurmuh£ and whose offense is grave, and ،هحدك فعضو همرج مظعوwhose efforts are modest,

wa ashrafat àl¡ alhalakati ،هسفن ةكللى الهع تفرأشوnafsuh£

and who is about to perish

wa lam yathiq bishay’in min ،هملع نم يءشب قثي ملوìlmih¢

and who has no trust in any of his deeds

ـ نذال لو اساد فيه وما هل دجي ملو هب

،كريغ قيالم هترثعال لو راغاف

wa lam yajid lim¡ huwa f¢hi s¡ddan wa l¡ lidhanbih¢ gh¡firan

wa l¡ liàthratih¢ muq¢lan ghayruka

and who has not found anyone who can make up for him or can forgive his sin or can overlook his slips save You,

,h¡riban ilaykaHe is thus resorting to You ،كيإل باهار

,mutaàwwidhan bikaseeking Your refuge ،كب ذاوعتم

,mutaàbbidan lakaworshipping You ،كل دابعتم

¡ghayra mustankifin wa l ،ربكتسال مو فكنتسم ريغmustakbirin

showing no disdain, no pride,

¡wa l¡ musta¦sirin wa l ،ربجتال مو رسحتسال موmutajabbirin

no arrogance, no condescension,

;wa l¡ mutaà¨ïminand no aloofness ،مظعتال مو

,bal b¡’isin faq¢rinrather, he is miserable, needy ،قيرف سبائ لب

.kh¡’ifin mustaj¢rinfearful, and seeking shelter .يرجتسم فائخ

as’aluka y¡ all¡hu y¡ ra¦m¡nuI beseech You, O Allah, O the ،نامحيا ر هللايا ا كألأسAll-beneficent,

-y¡ ¦ann¡nu y¡ mann¡nuO the All-tender, O the All ،اننيا م اننا حيbestower of boons,

y¡ bad¢à alssam¡w¡ti wal-ar¤iO the magnificent Maker of the ،ضاألرو واتامالس ديعيا بheavens and the earth,

y¡ dhaljal¡li wal-ikr¡miO the Lord of majesty and ،راماإلكو اللا ذا الجيhonor;

،دمحم آلو دمحلى مع يلصت أنan tu¥alliya àl¡ mu¦ammadin

wa ¡li mu¦ammadin (I beseech You) to send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

,al¡tan kath¢ratan §ayyibatan blessings that are abundant¥ ،ةبيط ةثيرك الةصsuperb,

,mub¡rakatan n¡miyatansanctified, ever-increasing ،ةينام ةكبارم

.z¡kiyatan shar¢fatanpure, and honorable .ةريفش ةيزاك

ـ رفغت أن مهالل كألأس ري هلي في ش

ني،محرتو هذا

as’aluka all¡humma an taghfira l¢ f¢ shahr¢ h¡dh¡ wa tar¦aman¢

I beseech You, O Allah, to forgive me in this month and to have mercy upon me

wa ta`tiqa raqabat¢ mina alnn¡riand to release me from Hellfire ،ارالن ني متبقر قتعتو

داأح هب تيطعما أ ريخ يهني فيطعتو

،كقلخ نم

wa tu`§iyan¢ f¢hi khayra m¡ a`§ayta bih¢ a¦adan min

khalqika

and to grant me the best of that which You have ever given any of Your creatures


wa khayra m¡ anta mu`§¢hiand the best of that which You ،يهطعم تما أن ريخوwill ever give,

ـ ضـان مر رهش رآخ هلعجال تو هتمص

،كضي أرنتنكأس ذنم كل

wa l¡ tajàlhu ¡khira shahri rama¤¡na ¥umtuh£ laka

mundhu askantan¢ ar¤aka

and (please) do not decide this month of Rama¤¡n to be the last one in which I observe fasting for Your sake since You allowed me to live on Your lands

;il¡ yawm¢ h¡dh¡up to this day ذا،ي هموإلى ي

ـ ع هلعاج لب ـ أت يل ـ عن هم ـ عأو ةم هم

،ةيعاف

bal ijàlhu àlayya atammah£ wa aàmmah£ `¡fiyatan

rather (please) make it the month of the most perfect bounty that You have ever conferred upon me and of the most excellent well-being that You have ever covered me with,

،قازر هعسأووwa awsaàh£ rizqanand of the most expansive

sustenance that You have ever decided for me,

.هأنهأو هلزأجوwa ajzalah£ wa ahna’ah£and of the most profuse reward

that You grant me and of the most pleasant times that have ever come upon me.

،ريمالك كهجوبو كب وذي أعإن مهللاall¡humma inn¢ a`£dhu bika wa

biwaj-hika alkar¢mi O Allah: I do seek Your protection and the protection of Your Magnanimous Face,

,wa mulkika alà¨¢miand Your Majestic Kingdom ،يمظالع ككلمو

an taghruba alshshamsu min ذا،ومي هي نم سمالش برغت أنyawm¢ h¡dh¡

against that sun sets at the end of this day,

,aw yanqa¤iya h¡dh¡ alyawmuor this day comes to its end ،موهذا الي يضقني أو

¢aw ya§luà alfajru min laylat ،هتي هذيلل نم رجالف علطي أوh¡dhih¢

or this night dawns,

,aw yakhruja h¡dh¡ alshshahruor this month elapses ،رههذا الش جرخي أو

،بنذ أو ةعبلي تبق كلوwa laka qibal¢ tabiàtun aw

dhanbun but there is still an offense of a sin due to which You shall punish me,

aw kha§¢’atun tur¢du an ها،ني بسقايت أن ريدت ةطيئخ أوtuq¡yisan¢ bih¡

or a wrongdoing for which You may want to interrogate me,

,aw tu’¡khidhan¢ bih¡or punish me ها،ني بذؤاخت أو

يا نفي الد يزخ فقوها مي بنفوقت أو

،ةرخاآلو

aw t£qifan¢ bih¡ mawqifa khizyin fidduny¡ wal-¡khirati

or put me in a disgraceful situation in this world or the next world,

aw tuàdhdhiban¢ yawma alq¡kaor chastise me on the day when ،قاكأل موني يبذعت أوI will meet You.

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢naO the most Merciful of all those .ميناحالر محيا أرwho show mercy.

هم إنـي أدعـوك لهـم ال يفرجـه اللall¡humma inn¢ ad`£ka lihammin l¡ yufarrijuhu

O Allah: I beseech You about a grief that none can relieve save You,


ghayruka غيرك،

¡wa lira¦matin l ولرحمة ال تنال إال بك، tun¡lu ill¡ bikaAnd for mercy that cannot be attained except through You,

ولكرب ال يكشفه إال أنت،wa likarbin l¡ yakshifuhu ill¡

anta And about hardship from which none can rescue except You

¡wa liraghbatin l ولرغبة ال تبلغ إال بك، tublaghu ill¡bika

And for desire that cannot be obtained except by You

.كضى دونقال ت ةحاجلوwa li¦¡jatin l¡ tuq¤¡ d£nakaAnd for a need that cannot be

settled without Your intervention

ي نتدأر اللهم فكما كان من شأنك ما

من مسألتك، هب

all¡humma fakam¡ k¡na min sha’nika m¡ aradtan¢ bihi min

mas’alatika

O Allah: As You have decided to allow me to pray You,

ورحمتني به من ذكركwa ra¦imtany bihi min dhikrikaAnd as You have had mercy

upon me through allowing me to refer to You,

فليكن من شأنك اإلجابة لـي فيمـا

دعوتك،

falyakun min shanika alij¡batu l¢ f¢m¡ daàwtuka

So, please decide that my prayers are responded by You,

والنجاة مما فزعت إليك فيه،wal-nnajatu mimm¡ fazi`tu

ilayka f¢hi And grant me redemption from that against which I have resorted to You.

يا ملين الحديد لداود عليه السالم،أay¡ mulayyina al¦ad¢di lid¡w£da

àlayhi alssal¡mu O He Who made the iron pliant for (Prophet) David, peace be upon him;

والكرب العظـام عـن يا كاشف الضر

أيوب،

y¡ k¡shifa al¤¤urri wal-kurabi alì¨¡mi àn ayy£ba

O He Who took off the harm and calamity that afflict (Prophet) Job;

wa mufarrija hamm ya`q£ba O He Who relieved the sorrow مفرج هم يعقوب،وof (Prophet) Jacob;

wa munaffisa ghammi y£sufaO He Who removed the grief of منفس غم يوسف،و(Prophet) Joseph:

صل على محمد وآل محمد¥alli àl¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li

mu¦ammadin (Please do) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad,

¡wafàl by m عل بي ما أنت أهله،واف anta ahluhuAnd (please) do to me that which befits You,

fa innaka ahlu alttaqw¡ wa ahlu .إنك أهل التقوى وأهل المغفرةفalmaghfirati

You are surely worthy of being feared and worthy of forgiving.

all¡humma anta thiqat¢ f¢ kulli اللهم أنت ثقتي في كل كرب،karbin

O Allah: I trust in You in hard times

wa raj¡’¢ f¢ kulli shiddatinand confide in you hopefully in ورجائي في كل شدةtribulations,

ر نـزل بـي ثقـة وأنت لي في كل أم

وعدة.

wa anta l¢ f¢ kulli amrin nazala b¢ thiqatun wa ìddatun

and in You lie my faith and hope in every misfortune that inflicts me.

kam min karbin ya¤ùfu f¢hi Many were the griefs that كم من كرب يضعف فيه الفؤاد،

,wa taqillu f¢hi al¦¢latuwere hardly curable وتقل فيه الحيلة،

wa yakhdhulu f¢hi al¥¥ad¢qucaused my friends to ويخذل فيه الصديق،disappoint me,

wa yashmutu f¢hi alàduwwuand made my enemies rejoice ويشمت فيه العدو،(over my helplessness);

أنزلته بك وشكوته إليكanzaltah¢ bika wa shakawtah¢

ilayka but when I relegated them –i.e. the griefs- to You and complained about them to You,

raghbatan minn¢ f¢hi àmman اك،رغبة مني فيه إليك عمن سوsiw¡ka

because I heartily intended You, no one else,

،هتيفكو ففرجته وكشفتهfa farrajtah£ wa kashaftah£ wa

kafaytah£ You relieved and alleviated them and saved me from their consequences.

fa anta waliyyu kulli ni`matinYou are certainly the source of ،كل نعمة فأنت وليall graces,

,wa ¥¡¦ibu kulli ¦asanatinthe cause of all favors ،وصاحب كل حسنة

wa muntah¡ kulli raghbatinand the only intention of ،كل رغبة ومنتهىaspirations.

a`£dhu bikalim¡ti allhi اتامالت اهللا ماتلكب أعوذaltt¡mm¡ti

I seek the protection of all of the Perfect Words of Allah

min sharri m¡ khalaqa min .يءش نم خلق ما شر منshay’in

against the evil of whatever thing He has created.

ـ عاف مهللا ـ ومي هـذا ح ني في ي ى ت

،يسمأ

all¡humma `¡fin¢ f¢ yawm¢ h¡dh¡ ¦att¡ ums¢

O Allah: (please) convey upon me with good health on this day up to the evening.

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka ذا،مي هوي ةكرب كألي أسإن مهللاbarakata yawm¢ h¡dh¡

O Allah: I beseech You to grant me the blessing of this day

ـ و ـ يـه ف لزما ن ـ افع نم ـ غمو ةي ةرف

،وانضرو ةمحرو

wa m¡ nazala f¢hi min `¡fiyatin wa maghfiratin wa ra¦matin wa

ri¤w¡nin

as well as whatever has been descended on this day, including well-being, forgiveness, mercy, pleasure,

ـ ي ويـال علي وأهي ودلوو يدالو لأه

ي،تزانح

wa rizqin w¡siìn ¦al¡lin tabsu§uh£ àlayya wa àl¡

w¡lidayya wa wild¢ wa ahl¢ wa ìy¡l¢ wa ahli ¦uz¡nat¢

and sustenance that is expansive and legally gotten that You may extend it for me, for my parents, for my sons, for my wife, for my dependants, for my friends,

wa man a¦babtu wa a¦abban¢for all those whom I love, for ي،نبحأو تببأح نموall thos who love me,

wa waladtu wa waladan¢for my descendants and for my ني،دلوو تدلووascendants.

ـ مهللا ـ إن ـ وذي أع ـ كب ـ نم كالش

،كرالشو

all¡humma inn¢ a`£dhu bika min alshshakki walshshirki

O Allah: I seek Your protection against doubt and monotheism

wal¦asadi walbaghyiand envy and oppression ،يغالبو دسالحو

.wal¦imyati walgha¤abiand fanaticism and rage .بضالغو ةيمالحو


all¡humma rabba alssam¡w¡ti ،عبالس واتامالس بر مهللاalssabì

O Allah; the Lord of the Seven Skies

wa rabba al-ara¤¢na alssabìand the Lord of the seven ،عبالس ضيناألر بروlayers of the earth

ـ مـا ب و نيهما فو ـ برو نهني شرالع

،ظيمالع

wa m¡ f¢hinna wa m¡ baynahunna wa rabba al-àrshi

al-à¨¢mi

and whatever thing exists in and between them; and the Lord of the Great Throne:

alli àl¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡lih¢(Please do) bless Mu¦ammad¥ ،هآلو دمحلى مع لصand his Household,

،تئما شري بأم نم مهني المفاكوwakfin¢ almuhimma min amr¢

bim¡ shi’ta and relieve me from my aggrieving matters by the means that You will

.wa kayfa shi’taand the method that You will .تئش فيكوYou may then recite the S£rah of al-F¡ti¦ah and the ªyat al-Kursiy (2:255) and then say the following:

ــقـ ك إنــ م هــلل ا ــل ع ى اهللا ل صــ ك يــب ن ل ت ل ه ي )،فـتـرضى ربك يـعطيك ولسوف : (ه آل و

all¡umma innaka qulta linabiyyika ¥all¡ all¡hu `layhi wa

¡lih¢: wa lasawfa yu`§¢ka rabbuka fatar¤¡

O Allah: You have said to Your Prophet—Peace of Allah be upon him and his Household: “And soon shall your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased.”

ك يبــــــــب ح و ك ول ســــــــر و ك يــــــــب ن إن م هــــــــلل ا ،ك ق ل خ ن م ك ت ر يـ خ و

all¡humma inna nabiyyaka wa ras£laka wa ¦ab¢baka wa khiyarataka min khalqika

O Allah: Verily, Your Prophet, Messenger, Most Beloved, and Elite from among Your creatures

l¡ yar¤¡ bi-an tuàdhdhiba ،ه ت م أ ن م دا أح ب ذ ع تـ ضى بأن ر ال يـ a¦adan min ummatih¢

is not pleased if You torment one of his nation

ــد ــم ب ك ان ــو ه واالت ــئ األ واالة م ــ ة م ل أهــ ن م ،ه ت ي بـ

d¡naka bimuw¡l¡tih¢ wa muw¡l¡ti al-a’immati min ahli

baytih¢

who worships You through acting loyally to the Prophet and to the Imams from his Household

wa in k¡na mudhniban kh¡§i’an ،ئا اط خ با ن ذ م كان إن و even if that one is guilty and sinful,

f¢ n¡ri jahannama (and to torture him) in ،م ن ه ج ار في ن Hellfire.

fa ajirn¢ y¡ rabb¢ min jahannama ها،ذاب ع و م ن ه ج ن م ب ا ر ني ي ر ج أ ف wa àdh¡bih¡

So, (please) rescue me from Hell and its torture,

wa habn¢ limu¦ammadin wa ¡li ،د م ح م آل و د م ح م ي ل ن ب ه و mu¦ammadin

and pardon me for the sake of Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad;

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na O the most Merciful of all those .ين م اح الر م ح ا أر ي who show mercy.

ن مـ ف ل أ لـى تـع ة نـالج ل أهـ ن ي بــ عا ام ا ج ي ،ة ب ح م ال ة د ش و لوب الق

y¡ j¡miàn bayna ahli aljannati àl¡ ta’allufin mina alqul£bi wa

shiddati alma¦abbati

O He Who shall gather the inhabitants of Paradise on terms of cordiality and affability;

wa n¡zià alghilli min ¥ud£rihim ،م ه دور ص ن م ل الغ ع ناز و and He Who shall remove rancor that may be in their breasts,

¡wa j¡ìlahum ikhw¡nan `l ،لين قاب ت م ر ر لى س ع وانا إخ م ه ل اع ج و sururin mutaq¡bil¢na

and He shall thus make them brothers; face to face on couches.


¢y¡ j¡miàn bayna ahli §¡àtih ،ه ت اع ط ل أه ن ي بـ عا ام ا ج ي O He Who Shall gather between those who are obedient to Him

wa bayna man khalaqah¡ lah£ and him for whom it was ،ه ها ل ق ل خ ن م ن ي بـ و created.

wa y¡ mufarrija ¦uzni kulli ،ون ز ح م ل ك ن ز ح ج ر ف ا م ي و ma¦z£nin

O He Who relieves the sad of every aggried one;

wa y¡ manhala kulli ghar¢bin O He Who is the resource of .ريب غ ل ك ل ه نـ يا م و every stranger;

ي وال أحـــ ل ي كـــفـــي و تـــب غ ي ر ي فـــمـــاح ر يـــا ي،ل ة الء الك و ظ ف الح ن س ح ب

y¡ r¡¦im¢ f¢ raghbat¢ wa f¢ kulli a¦w¡l¢

O He Who covers me with His mercy when I desire for something as well as in all my circumstances by means of well safeguarding and protection.

y¡ mufarrija m¡ b¢ mina al¤¤¢qi ،ف و الخ و يق الض ن ي م ما ب ج ر ف ا م ي walkhawfi

O He Who relieves all my depression and fears;

alli àl¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li¥ ،د م ح م آل و د م ح لى م ع ل ص mu¦ammadin

(please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

ــــــاج و ي ت قــــــاد ي و تــــــب ح أ ن ي بـــــــي و نــــــي بـ ع م .ي وال م ي و دات ه و يت ساد و

wajma` bayn¢ wa bayna a¦ibbat¢ wa q¡dat¢ wa s¡dat¢ wa

hud¡t¢ wa maw¡liyya

and join me with my beloved ones: my leaders, my masters, my guides, and my lords.

y¡ mu’allifan bayna al-a¦ibbati O He Who joins the dear ones ة ب ح األ ن ي بـ فا ل ؤ ا م ي with each other;

alli àl¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li¥ ،د م ح م آل و د م ح لى م ع ل ص mu¦ammadin

(please do) bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

ــــح م ة ؤيــــر طــــاع ق ان ي ب نــــع ج ف ال تـ و آل و د م ي،ن ع د م ح م

wa l¡ tafja`n¢ binqi§¡ì ru’yati mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin ànn¢

and never distress me by preventing me from seeing Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad

wa l¡ binqi§¡ì ru’yat¢ ànhum or ceasing them from seeing ،م ه نـ ي ع ت ؤي ر طاع ق ان ال ب و me.

fabikulli mas¡’ilika y¡ rabbi هي،إل وك ع أد ب ا ر ي ك ل سائ م ل ك ب ف ad`£ka il¡h¢

I thus beseech You, O my God, in the name of all that by which You are prayed;

fastajib du`¡’¢ iyy¡ka So, please respond to my ،اك ي إي عائ د ب ج ت اس ف beseeching You,

y¡ ar¦ama alrr¡¦im¢na O the most Merciful of all those ،مين اح الر م ح ا أر ي who show mercy.

ــــــلل ا ــــــ م ه ــــــإن ــــــج ح طــــــاع ق ان ب ك ل أ ي أس ي ت ي.ل ر ف غ تـ أن ك ت ج ح وب ج و و

all¡humma inn¢ as’aluka binqi§¡ì ¦ujjat¢ wa wuj£bi

¦ujjatika an taghfira l¢

O Allah: I beseech You in the name of that I have no claim against You but You have all claims against me, that You may forgive me.

ــــلل ا ــــ م ه ــــإن ــــ وذ ي أع ــــ ك ب ــــ ن م ــــ ي ز خ م و يـ ،ر ش ح م ال

all¡humma inn¢ a`£dhu bika min khizyi yawmi alma¦shari

O Allah: I seek Your protection against the disgrace of the Day of Resurrecting,

wa min sharri m¡ baqiya mina ،ر ه الد ن م ي ق ما ب ر ش ن م و alddahri

and against the evil of the coming days of my life,

wa min sharri al-a`d¡’i and against the evil of the ،داء األع ر ش ن م و enemies,


wa ¥af¢ri al-fan¡’i and against the approaching of ،ناء الف فير ص و termination

,wa `i¤¡li aldd¡’iand against cureless maladies ،اء الد ضال ع و ,wa khaybati alrraj¡’iand against disappointment ،جاء الر ة ب ي خ و wa zaw¡li alnni`mati and against fading away of ،ة م ع النـ وال ز و

boons, wa fuj’ati alnniqmati and against unexpected ،ة م ق النـ ة أ ج ف و

chastisements. راك يــ ه نــأ ك شــاك خ ي بــا ل ي قـ لــ ل عــاج م هــلل ا .قاك ل يـ م و ى يـ إل

all¡humma ij`al l¢ qalban yakhsh¡ka ka’annah£ yar¡ka il¡

yawmi yalq¡ka

O Allah: (please) decide for me a heart that fears You as if it can see You directly up to the day on which it shall meet You.
