RESOLUTION

Consequent upon the introduction of Revised scales of Pay under theGujarat Civil Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 1998, the question of decidingentitlements to travel on LTC was under consideration of Government. Onacceptance of Fifth Pay Commission's recommendations on entitlements to faze;on I..TC. Government of. India has issued orders with effi t from' 1-10.1998 videNotifications at Sr. No.5 & 6 shown in preamble. Accordingly, State Governmentis pleased to prescribe the entitlements on the basis of pay to travel or. LTC for

different ranges of pay as under :-

(A) Journey by Air/Rail:

Pay Rang EntitlementRs. 18,400 and above Air Economy (Y) Class by National

Carriers or AC First Class by train, attheir option.

Rs. 16,400 and above but less AC First Classthan Rs . 18,400Rs: 8,000 and above but less II AC II-tier Sleeper.than Rs. 16,400

Below Rs. 4,100 Second Sleeper

* All Government servants who are entitled to travel on LTC by First Class/AC I1I-tier Sleeper/AC Chair Car may, at their discretion, travel by AC 11-tier Sleeper incases where any of the ' trains connecting the originating and destination stationsconnected by the direct shortest route do not provide these classes ofaccommodation.

Rs. 16,400 and above. Executive Class

Rs. 4,100 and obove but less AC Chair Carthan Rs. 16,400

NOTE:- Entitlement by Rajdhani /Shatabdi Trains would be applicable in caseswhere journey is actually undetaken by these trains and not for determining.entitlement on notional basis. Both ends of the journey, ,i.e. place of start of thejourney and the destination should be directly connected by Rajdhani /ShatabdiExpress.

pan a Entitlement(i) Rs. 18 ,400 and above . Actual fare by any type of public bus,

including air-conditioned bus; ORAt prescribed rates for AC Taxi/Taxi(A.C. Taxi when the journey is actuallyperformed by AC Taxi) for journey tothe places not connected. by rail subjectto condition- that, the claim shall berestricted to the bus fare by entitledclass or the fare actually paid,whichever is less-

(ii) Rs. 8,000 and above but lessthan Ri;. 18 ,400. Same as at (i) above and with the excep-

tion that journeys by AC Taxi will notbe ssible.

(iii) Rs. 6,500 and above but lessthan Rs. 8,000.

(iv) Rs. 4,100 and above but lessthan Rs. 6,500.

(v) Below Rs. 4,100.

Same as at (ii) above. with the -exceptionthat journeys by air-condition bus willnot be permissible..

Actual fare by any type, of public busother than air- eond:itioned bus: OR1- 4 1.At prescribed rate for Autorickshaw forjourney to places not connected by railsubject to condition that the claim shallbe restricted to bus fare by entitled classor the fare actually paid, whichever isless.

As at (iv) above with the condition thatthe claim shall be restricted to the bus

. NOTE:- In all cases of travel by AC Taxi, Taxi or Autorickshaw

production of fare receipt will be necessary.

All journeys performed after 1-10-98 should be in accordance with theentitlements prescribed above. The Controlling/Drawing & Disbursing Officers areauthorised to regularise as per the provisions of this Government Resolution, thecases settled before issuance of this Government Resolution.

Other conditions governing the scheme stand unmodified.
