2. Touchable Holograms
A university in Tokyo have designed the first touchable holograms.This technology adds
the sensation of touch to holograms.It consists of software that uses ultrasonic
waves to create pressure on the hand of a user touching the projected hologram.
Researchers are using two Wiimotes from Nintendos Wii gaming system to track a users
hand. The commercial possibilities for this technology are endless and could be a
significant step away from the mouse and keyboard

3. Pepsi Refresh campaign
Industry experts are praising Pepsi for their corporate social responsibility (CSR) work surrounding the BP oil
spill. As part of the ‘Refresh’ Project, individuals can vote online, starting August 2nd, for ideas to help the
Gulf area. Pepsi has committed $1.3 million towards ideas that benefit communities in the affected area (the five-state region of Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama). Applications were accepted between July 12 through the 16th; those with the most votes will be
revealed online on September 22nd.

A Japanese advertising project has fitted billboards with cameras that can read the
gender and age profile of individual people thus allowing them to tailor their commercial
messages.The ‘Digital Signage Promotion Project’ is
currently in test phase. It is a one year pilot project involving 27 advertising display units in subway stations around Tokyo. Each display
is capable of recognising an individual’s sex and approximate age once that person passes the
display or glances at the billboard.

5. Old spice Youtube
The Grand Prix winning Old Spice campaign,
The Man Your Man Could Smell Like, has moved up a gear with a series of fast
track film responses to public comments on Twitter, in blogs and on
television. Isaiah Mustafa delivers messages while standing in the shower
with his Old Spice Bodywash in response to messages sent via @OldSpice and
Facebook, hosted online at the Old Spice YouTube channel.. W+K are
moving these 30 second videos out at a rate of sixty day!
