PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING* T asks the Ss to describe Spike’s mood in one word (she shows them a picture in order to guess the word easier) and make a sentence with that word – e.g. Spike is angry . * T asks Ss what is angry as part of speech -> Ss answer that angry is an adjective because it describes a noun. T elicits another examples of adjectives.* T sticks on the blackboard the an image with the following sentence: He slams the door angrily . and asks Ss what is the word angrily as part of speech? They conclude that angrily is an adverb because it describes the action (the verb). T elicits another examples of adverbs in sentences.* Ss write the formation rule for the adverbs.
