My day as aFire Risk ConsultantMorning

09.30: I visit an offshore platform operated by Shell in the North Sea to determine fire protection strategies for the living quarters.

Noon12.45: I discuss a new fire safety upgrading project during a lunch mee-ting with the Hilton Division Manager for several European hotels.

Afternoon15.00: I conduct the kick-off meeting of my projectteam and witness the testing and commissioning of 2 new fire pumps at the main refinery of Total, located in the port of Antwerp.

Evening19.00: I enjoy a relaxing evening after a tiring but rewarding day.

Specifieke taken en verantwoordelijkhedenAls Fire Risk Consultant ben je verantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering van brandveilig-heidsstudies, risicoanalyses en/of brandveiligheidsengineering- en ontwerpprojecten. Dit alles in samenwerking met je Project Team en de Technisch Directeur.

Dit zijn je taken:1. Commercieel: klantenbezoek, verkopen van projecten, offertes maken, presentaties, opvolging

2. Projectbeheer, opvolging en controle

3. Projectuitvoering (zie infra)

4. Coaching en aansturen van ingenieurs en tekenaars bij projecten

Project beheer & uitvoering

Consultancy

• Uitvoeren en afleveren brandveiligheidsstudies

• Analyse van nationale en internationale brandcodes en normen

• Risico analyse en inschatting

• Veiligheid van gebouwen

• Opmaak budgetten voor projecten

Engineering en ontwerp van branddetectie en -beveiligingssystemen• Bezoeken ter plaatse

• Controle van engineering berekeningen & ontwerpen

• Begeleiding bij voorbereiding van specificaties en lastenboeken

• Kwaliteitscontrole

Coaching & aansturing van ingenieurs• Opvolging en begeleiding van projectgroep;

• Taakverdeling en opvolging timing aflevering deelprojecten;

• Klankbord en aanspreekpunt voor collega-ingenieurs aangaande projecten;

• Verzekeren vlotte interne samenwerking project teams.
