GERMANY

When it comes to sports, I would include an adidas football in the time capsule since football and adidas have a long tradition in Germany

Sport

In 2014, Germany won the world championship in Brazil, playing with an

adidas football

Adidas is the biggest German sports retailer

In terms of fashion, I would include leather breeches, which are called “Lederhosen” in Germany

Fashion

“Lederhosen” are especially famous in the Southern part of Germany

(Bavaria) where they are considered as workwear or leisurewear for men

The equivalent for women is called „Dirndl“ and cannot be missing in the time capsule

Instead of wearing “Lederhosen”, women traditionally wear a “Dirndl” in the South

Fashion

The German “Schlager” music is pervasive in Germany, so I would include a CD of the most successful singer, Helene Fischer

Music

The song “Atemlos” was her most successful song and released in 2013

„Sendung mit der Maus“ and „Das Sandmännchen“ have been watched by children ever since and can not be missing in the capsule

Furthermore, I would include the cathedral of Cologne since it is one of the most famous buildings in Germany

Architecture

The cathedral of Cologne is the third highest cathedral of the world measuring 157 meters and a renowned monument of Germany. Moreover, it is the most visited landmark in Germany, attracting an average of 20,000 visitors per day

I would include the book “Faust” from Goethe in the time capsule as being one of the most famous books in the world

Literature

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a German writer and statesmen (1749-1832)

Faust is Goethe's most famous work and considered by many to be one of the greatest works of German literature

The traditional food and beverage I would include in the time capsule are beer, sausages, sauerkraut, and potatoes

Food & Beverages

Beer, sausages, sauerkraut, and potatoes are an integral part of the German culture

and preeminent throughout the whole country

Moreover, I would include a piece of German bread since this cannot be found anywhere else in the world

The most popular sweets in Germany are gummi bears and must be included in the time capsule

The slogan "Haribo macht Kinder froh, und Erwachsene ebenso" has ever since been

used by the company to promote their brand

I would include a Mercedes-Benz in the time capsule because they are a traditional German car manufacturer and stand for high-quality cars

Industry

Mercedes-Benz manufacture luxury cars and are a typical example for the “Made in Germany” brand
