1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-8 NIV1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

ROMANS 1:1-6 NIV

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.

APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate,

Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into Hell;

The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven,

and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost;

the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins;

the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

YOUR OWN GOSPEL

Because Jesus died we can become forgiven; because He rose again and is alive we can know Him.

God created the world perfectly, but man sinned and was separated from God. Because of his love, God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. God raised Jesus from the dead, and this same power is alive in us through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus, we find new life, peace, and refreshment from his presence. Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead.

YOUR OWN GOSPEL

God saw the suffering of His people and heard their groaning, so He came down to deliver them through Moses. (7:34) In the fullness of time, God raised up a deliverer like Moses from David’s lineage. (7:37) He brought to Israel a Savior—Jesus—as he promised, and Jesus brought with him a message of Life for all to hear. (13:23, 26) Jesus was approved by God through the powerful deeds, wonders, and miraculous signs that God did through him. (2:22). He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with great power, and he went about doing good, healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil. (10:38)

Jesus was rejected by those he came to save, but he became the Cornerstone, the sure foundation of our salvation. (4:11) He was betrayed and handed

over by the Jews to be crucified, but he was nailed to a cross by the hands of Gentiles. (2:23) God glorified his servant Jesus, who is the Originator of life, by raising him from the dead. (3:15) Jesus was then exalted to the right hand of God, where he was given the authority to pour out on us the promised Holy Spirit. (2:33)

No one else has the power to save. There is only one name that has the authority for us to experience salvation: the name of Jesus. (4:12) If we believe in Him, we receive complete forgiveness of sins through the power of his name. (10:43) Our part is to repent by turning back to God, by being baptized into his name for the forgiveness of our sins, and by taking hold of the gift of the Holy Spirit. (2:38)

God has made Jesus both Lord and Messiah. (2:36) Jesus came to rescue us from the wayward and perverse culture of this world. (2:20) He was raised up in order to bless us by turning each one of us from our iniquities—so that times of refreshing may come from his presence. (3:26, 19) On the basis of our faith in Jesus’ name, we are made strong. Healing is included in his atonement for our sins, and the faith that is through Jesus is what gives us health. (3:16)

God commands us all to repent and turn to him, for he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by Jesus, the man whom he has appointed by raising him from the dead. (17:31) We should all long for God and find him—for he is the God who is easy to discover. It is through him, through Jesus, that we live and function and have our identity. For our
