Preforming Arts Join two of Kentucky's Performing
Arts Troupe members, Ms. Grace
Brocato and Mr. Gabe McFadyen for
a day in the arts! Youth will learn
about stage presence, poise, and musical arts. Youth
will also learn more about percussion instruments
and how to play a song using
boomwhackers. We will
wrap up the day with some
theatrical arts exercises.
Lunch is provided.

Owensboro Community and Technical College)
For convenience, two registration forms are located in the center of this booklet.
To allow all of our 4-H’ers an opportunity to participate in these Summer Day Camps,
we are limiting each youth to three classes.
However, you may put your name on the waiting list for as many classes as you would like.
Pre-registration and payment are required for all summer classes.
Class sizes are limited so register soon! You may mail in your registration or hand deliver to the Extension Office.
Class registration is on an in-hand first come, first serve basis with a paid registration.
Please notify us of any allergies
at time of registration.
Dress appropriately for the projects please!
International Day Join Mr. Bart Rhodes of Owensboro Catholic Middle School for a day of International Fun as we learn about other cultures, including food, art, and crafts. In this day camp, we will be cooking, creating a County Fair project and having fun all while celebrating
International Culture!
Lunch is provided.

Ages: 11-18 yrs.
Food Preservation This class is open to 4-H’er/guardian pairs only!
From dried fruits and pickles to canned beans and jams, so many wonderful food recipes can be entered in the County Fair! Come as a family to learn food preservation techniques, cooking tips, and more with the University of Kentucky interns as they share their research-based knowledge and you may even take home some of the goodies we make! 4-H’ers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for this day camp! Participants will
make their own lunch as we work through the day.
Date: June 4, 5, 6 (Must attend all three days) Time: 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cost: Free Class limit: 5 pairs
Ages: 9-18 yrs.
Science Day Camp: Coding Come spend the day exploring the 2018 National Youth
Science Day Experiment, Code Your World. This
hands-on activity will use your best coding skills or
introduce you to the world of coding.
“Code Your World is a four-part challenge that teaches
kids to apply CS to the world around them through
hands-on activities. Developed by Google and West
Virginia University Extension Service, it includes a
computer-based activity on Google’s CS First platform and
three unplugged activities that bring coding
to life through games and interaction”.
You will also have the opportunity to check
out past National Youth Science Day
experiments.
Lunch will be provided!

Intermediate Woodworking Must sign a liability waiver at the time of registration!
For those with woodworking experience, come expand your craftsmanship skills! 4-H’ers will gain further hands-on woodworking experience with a more difficult project as they build and stain their own hanging feeder that may be entered in the County Fair and taken home to keep forever!
*PARENTS* We will need a few extra sets of hands to help withthis day camp! If you are willing to stay and help with drills, hammering, and general safety, please let us know at the time of your child's registration.
Lunch will be provided.

Beginner Woodworking

Come test your craftsmanship! 4-H’ers will gain hands-on woodworking experience as they build and stain their own napkin holder that may be entered in the County Fair and taken home to keep forever!

Work on your decorating skills as we learn how to spruce up
cupcakes using buttercream
icing and fondant. Each participant will
create up to four cupcakes!

Decorating Join us for a fun day of thumbs up and down at Pinterest Day Camp! We will be making projects from Pinterest that are also eligible for entry into the County Fair. You will also make your own lunch and County Fair eligible baked dessert.

Pinterest Day Camp
Come learn from Ms. Desiree Tucker as we polish those resume
writing skills! Participants will learn how to make a simple resume that may be entered into County Fair or prepared you for your next job! Lunch will be prepared by Pinterest Day Camp participants.

Resume Boot Camp
Join Ms. Lily for a morning of fun creating items you can enter into the County Fair. We will be baking and creating two other projects between activity breaks to get your body moving and your brain focused.
Child must be accompanied by an adult.

Gadgets
Quilting In this summer day camp, we will complete a 12x12 block using
the art of quilting.
Previous sewing experience is highly encouraged!
These quilt blocks may be entered into the
County Fair and then taken home to continue
your work or put on display for all to see!

Spend your morning with Daviess County Master Gardeners creating art projects. You will learn about and make the following projects: Clay pressing, branch weaving, block printing, and seed art.
