ICORE 2020

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) has been organizing conventions/ conferences/ seminars for more than three decades at National/ International level. During this period the Society has undergone profound changes and has finally grown to take up the challenge of organizing an annual event such as ICORE 2020 (International Congress on Renewable Energy) thus establishing India at par with developed nations hosting international events on a regular basis. ICORE 2020 covers all aspects of new and renewable energy and will focus on Solar Energy in particular thus providing an excellent platform for renewable energy researchers, academics, policy makers and industrialists in India as well as abroad. This year the ICORE 2020 is proposed to be held at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Sodepur, West Bengal, INDIA.

ABOUT SESI

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), established in 1976 with its Secretariat in New Delhi, is the Indian Section of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES). SESI is a multi-faceted national membership organization. With its long history and extensive technical and scientific expertise provided by its members, the Society is a modern, future oriented non-governmental organization (NGO). SESI has been serving the needs of the renewable energy community and the Society supports its members in the advancement of renewable energy technological, implementation and education. The objectives of SESI are to advance, promote and propagate the use of renewable energy by encouraging basic and applied research in renewable energy.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) was instituted with a vision to empower the aspiring professionals with the technological knowledge and professional expertise under the aegis of JIS Group Educational Initiatives in the year 2003. The Institute offers various undergraduate and post graduate courses such as B.Tech (EE, CSE, IT, ECE, AEIE, FT), BCA, BBA, BHM, M.Tech (CSE,ECE) & MCA. Some of the courses are NBA Accredited. RENEWABLES : Growth through

Academia-Industry Interface

India is a developing and fast-growing economy and efforts must be made to keep this pace of development for eradication of poverty in the country. As a result, in the past several years our energy needs have been rapidly growing. We need more energy to sustain the growth and bridge the gap in the demand and supply of power. Wider adoption of renewable energy technologies would address the energy security of the country and to meet the objectives of augmenting the power generation in the country and providing energy to rural areas. RE technologies can change the face of rural India in particular by offering easy to use energy solutions within the shortest possible time frame. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India has been encouraging development and large scale utilization of various renewable energy sources. Also, the Government of India has recently launched the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission implementation of which is likely to bring about a massive transformation in the way we have been thinking about the use of solar energy till now. It is felt that there is need to have regular and more intensive interaction between academia and industry for speedier development and deployment of RE technologies in the country.

SPEAKERS

As before, Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) makes every possible effort to present the latest happenings and developments on significant fronts concerning Renewable Energy programme. ICORE 2020 is also expected to witness high intensity deliberations on the key issues of Renewable Energy amongst the leading experts of the day, including those responsible for programme formulation and implementation..
