Taiwanese American pianist Steven Lin is an immediately engaging and imaginative young artist, applauded by the New York Times for playing that is “…immaculately voiced and enhanced by admirable subtleties of shading and dynamics,” and his growing list of awards features the Concert Artists Guild Competition and the John Giordano Jury Chairman Discretionary Award at the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. His dynamic playing at the 2014 Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition was recognized when he was awarded the Silver Medal as well as numerous performance prize engagements.

Steven Lin’s artistry was clear from an early age when he was accepted by The Juilliard School on a full scholarship to study

Founders is a songwriting collective that flourishes in combining classical and folk music with original compositions and pop arrangements. With songs ranging from Appalachian themed originals to Radiohead covers to art songs using famous poetry, Founders is reimagining the boundaries of musical styles. As the New York Music Daily states, “Their excellent debut album, You & Who, is unlike anything else out there right now.”

Merging the talents of five conservatory trained musicians from New York City, Founders brings a fresh perspective on songwriting. Each musician has worked with acclaimed songwriters such as James Taylor, Sufjan Stevens, Sting, and Björk, as well as with elite classical ensembles such as Canadian Brass, A Far Cry, and Mahler Chamber Orchestra. They have been featured on the stages of Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Walt Disney Hall, and Lincoln Center as well as on television broadcasts such as The Late Show, and SNL. With acoustic instruments and their unique musical vision, Founders is forging a new path for audiences around the world. Ben Russell – violin, vocals; Brandon Ridenour – trumpet, keysHamilton Berry – cello, vocals; Yoonah Kim – clarinet; Kris Saebo - bass

Canadian-born violinist Lara St. John has been described as “something of a phenomenon” by The Strad and a “high-powered soloist” by the New York Times. She has performed as soloist with many major orchestras of North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Australia/New Zealand.

The Los Angeles Times wrote “Lara St. John happens to be a volcanic violinist with a huge, fabulous tone that pours out of her like molten lava. She has technique to burn and plays at a constant high heat.”

Lara created her record own label, Ancalagon, in 1999. Of her Bach Six Sonatas and Partitas for Violin Solo, American Record Guide wrote: “I simply don’t know where else you can go to hear Bach played at this level of artistry. Once again she eclipses her competition.”

Lara began playing the violin when she was two years old. She made her first appearance as soloist with orchestra at age four, and her

Dramatic tenor Issachah Savage is garnering acclaim as a “heldentenor par excellence” with “trumpet-like, clear, open-throated, powerful” singing (San Francisco Examiner). Praised for his “impressive natural instrument” (Opera News), Mr. Savage is the winner of the 2014 Seattle International Wagner Competition, earning the main prize, audience favorite prize, orchestra favorite prize, and a special honor by Speight Jenkins.

Mr. Savage made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Don Riccardo in Verdi’s Ernani under James Levine in the 2014 – 2015 season. He recently sang Siegmund in Die Walküre at the Canadian Opera Company under Johannes Debus to great critical acclaim and made his mainstage debut as Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos at Seattle Opera. He also debuted at the Aspen Music Festival as Radames in Aida under conductor Robert Spano, a role he sang with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood under Jacques Lacombe in the summer of 2014.

Praised for performing intricate fifteenth-century counterpoint “with the ease of jazz musicians improvising on a theme,” Ciaramella brings to life medieval and early Renaissance music from historical events and manuscripts. Its members are united by the conviction that every composition conceals a rich story waiting to be unlocked through historical research and speculative performance.

Founded on a core of winds–shawm, sackbut, recorder, organ, and voice–Ciaramella takes its name from the Italian shawm and from a fifteenth-century song about a beautiful girl whose clothes are full of holes. When she opens her mouth, she knocks men flat.

Directed by Adam and Rotem Gilbert, from the Early Music Program at USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, the ensemble performs at major festivals throughout the United States, Italy, and Germany. Performances highlights have included the Cleveland Museum of Art, Bloomington Early Music Festival, Oberlin’s Baroque Performance Institute, the Lute Society of America, the American Musicological Society in Seattle, and the Amherst Early Music Festival. In 2007 they gave their New York debut at Music Before 1800 and performed at the Tage Alter Musik Festival in Regensburg.

Duo members João Luiz and Douglas Lora met in São Paulo as teenage guitar students and have been performing together for 20 years. Brasil Guitar Duo, a 2006 winner of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, has been hailed by Classical Guitar magazine for its “maturity of musicianship and technical virtuosity.” Its innovative programming features a seamless blend of traditional and Brazilian works, resulting in a full global touring schedule and a growing catalogue of critically acclaimed recordings. The Duo has appeared internationally on major concert series and at festivals in Cuba, Germany, England, South Korea, Colombia, Brazil, Austria, Panama, Poland, and Bermuda.

Committed to performing new chamber music employing the guitar, the Duo joined cellists Yo-Yo Ma and Carlos Prieto in the October 2014

world premiere of El arco y la lira, a work for two cellos and two guitars by the esteemed Cuban composer Leo Brouwer.

These artists actively strive to expand the repertoire for two guitars. Appearing frequently in diverse non-traditional spaces, the Duo combines a broad repertoire of classical guitar duos with such traditional Brazilian dance forms as choro, samba, maxixe, and baião.

with Yoheved Kaplinsky at the age of 10, which in turn led to his debut with the New York Philharmonic in Avery Fisher Hall when he was only 13. His schedule in recent years has included recitals and concerto appearances throughout the world. He has appeared on numerous radio broadcasts and is featured prominently in the Cliburn Competition documentary film, Virtuosity, which premiered on PBS in 2015.

When not making music, Steven describes himself as an ‘NBA basketball fanatic.’ Despite living most of his life on the east coast, he is a passionate L.A. Lakers fan.

European debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon when she was 10. She performs on the 1779 “Salabue” Guadagnini thanks to an anonymous donor.

Issachah has received a number of prestigious awards, recognition and career grants from institutions across the profession. The tenor’s special talents were recognized early on by the Marian Anderson Society of Philadelphia, where he was honored as its very first Scholar Artist and then again as a prize winner in their Classical Icon competition. He has also received two first places prizes in the esteemed Liederkranz Foundation competition.
