1. Pre-Heating & Dehydrogen Heat Treatment

ᆞWelding Preheating : A method of thermal treatment related to welding conducted

before/during welding.

- Purpose of Preheating :

ᆞTo prevent cracks on welding area and thermal effect area around welding area.

ᆞTo relieve solidification of the thermal effect area by reducing thermal loss

to delay cooling speed of the welding area.

ᆞTo control segregation of impurities that may result in cracks.

ᆞTo reduce thermal deformation due to welding.

ᆞDe-Hydrogenation Heat Treatment, Abbreviated as D.H.T, or simply heat treatment

(Called as various terms on the field such as Post-Heating, etc.)

- Purpose of De-Hydrogenation Heat Treatment

ᆞTo completely remove residual hydrogens that can not be removed with welding preheating on

the welding area and surroundings.

※ Common Purpose of Preheating and De-Hydrogenation Heat Treatment

To prevent hydrogen cracks such as hydrogen embrittlement, etc. by facilitating release of hydrogens and prevent mixture of hydrogens during welding by previously removing moisture in the base metal on which welding metal is melted.

Steel prismatic system grain refining ,Stress Relieving (internal stress)caused by cold working,

physical property. Let fall brittleness , main steel`s softness and tension would be improved.
