On October 24, 1901, several thousand people turned out to see Taylor face the 167 foot high falls. She was secured inside the barrel with some cushioning. She made it over the falls successfully, with only minor cuts and bruises. She was the first person to ride the falls in a barrel. She was 63 years old.Riding the Falls
