Johanna Evans Stat 107 HW 10 2/26/2008 10.2 The sum of the amounts spent on the seven types of games is 2078.2. It is not exactly equal to the totally given in the table because numbers are rounded separately. This is called roundoff error. 10.5 No, the graph does not fairly represent the data because it looks like N2K’s 12% is a lot smaller than half of CDNow’s 33%. Instead, it is about 1/5th the size, which is misleading. 10.6

10.7 a) Seasonal variation is visible in the graph with sharp increases and decreases within every year. I would expect that the price would be high when oranges were not in season, and the price to be lower, when there is more of an abundance of oranges while in season. b) The overall trend in orange prices is that the price index has been rising since 1990. 10.11

10.16 What explains this discrepancy in numbers is that in June a lot of seasonal employment is beginning, which would not be counted in the official report. 10.21

10.23 It is not correct to display this data in a pie chart because the information is not necessarily categorical. An adolescent could have done more than one of these things, so it the addition of these percentages would not add up to a whole. 10.24 a) 44% from motor vehicle accidents 14% from poisoning 3% from drowning 3% from fires 1% from fire arms There was 35% of accidental deaths due to other causes.
