If you are not covered by an insurance plan, you may receive your shot through personal payment. Flu Shot $33, Pneumonia Shot $95.
The month of October means it is time to renew your HTSC Club Membership. As we are in the process of updating our records this year, renewal will be a little different. We will ask all members (including Honorary Members) to fill out our revised “Membership Application” form. Forms will be available at our October & November General Club meetings as well as in the Center. Please submit your completed Membership Application form when you pay your dues. Dues for 2018 remain the same of $7.00 per person and need to be paid between October 1st thru December 1st. Membership benefits include reduced price of center trips and recreational activities.
Please note October ”Movie & Lunch” will be on the 6th (instead of 13th) this month to accommodate Trip to “Flat Rock Train and Historical Museums” on Friday the 13th.
We have a Bianco Trip to tour “The Parade Company Studio” where the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade floats and treasures are made with a “Tour of Ford Field Stadium” and lunch at “Traffic Jam” on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Trip includes both tours, deluxe motorcoach round trip transportation, and lunch. The cost is $79 per person. Sign-up and payment due by Monday, October 23.
Everyone enjoyed September’s Mystery Lunch at “Smokies of the Water” Grosse Isle. This month will be October 27th. Join us by signing up at the back table.

9TH HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY 21ST HAPPY SWEETEST DAY 31ST HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Revision on August 8th HTSC Club’s Board “Drawing of Names” for Huron Charter Township Senior Center Trips decision: Once a trip is announced all those that are interested will write their name, phone number, emergency contact name and phone number on sheet. If it is a couple who wish to go, simply write each name on list individually, just like in the past. If there are more than 16 interested then a “drawing” will be done with all Club members on the list. Couples will be entered into drawing together with both names on one slip; and if drawn both go. If by chance a couple is drawn and there is only one seat left, the couple will be asked if they’d like one to go and the other go on the waiting list (as has been the club’s practice) or not on list at all. Additional names will be drawn and put on the “Waiting List” in case the unforeseeable happens and a member cannot make it.
Volunteers who help with TEFAP Food commodities are now registered with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Wayne County. What a great way to show statistically the many volunteer hours seniors give back to their communities!
GETTING TO KNOW YOU… GETTING TO KNOW ALL ABOUT YOU! On behalf of the HTSC Club, I would like to welcome Don Zajac as a new member. Don comes to us from New Boston and likes to play cards. Welcome, Don! Laura H.

Olga Swick enjoyed the company of her granddaughter from Chicago, IL. A very nice time was had catching up and visiting with family!
Thank you to Jim Janosko, Bud Mollner and Stan Paluch, for sharing their end of the season harvest with us! We will miss your home-grown vegetables until next summer!
We send get well wishes to Marge Nelson, who broke her wrist while in Las Vegas for her 80th
birthday, and to Eddie Esche who had knee surgery. We send our thought and prayers to you both ladies, and continue them to Edna Moore as she continues to recover from knee surgery, and Faye Bird and Janet Hayes with their health issues.

FUNNIES: (Thank you to Mary Dilks for sharing with us! :-)- When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'm not sure." "Look in your underwear, Grandpa", he advised ... "Mine says I'm 4 to 6.“- I was in the bathroom, putting on my makeup, under the watchful eyes of my young granddaughter, as I'd done many times before. After I applied my lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, "But Grandma, you forgot to kiss the toilet paper good-bye!" I will probably never put lipstick on again without thinking about “kissing the toilet paper good-bye.”- My young grandson called the other day to wish me, “Happy Birthday!” He asked me how old I was, and I told him, "80". My grandson was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"- A grandmother was telling her little granddaughter what her own childhood was like. "We used to skate outside on a pond. I had a swing made from a tire; it hung from a tree in our front yard. We rode our pony. We picked wild raspberries in the woods. "The little girl was wide-eyed, taking all this in. At last she said, "I sure wish I'd gotten to know you sooner!"
