The set of bowls that I am creating will represtent the closesness of a family, how each individual bowl is just that, individual. They have their own unique differences and alone dont balance properly, but as a whole will sit together as a set, balancing on one another. The bowls themselves have rounded bottoms so they slightly rock from side to side or lean more to one side than the other, making them more of a sculptur- al piece, but when they are all sat as one they will have a presssed stamp down one side of them in the shape of a sucker from an octopus, each will match up when they are placed on top of each other. I chose to use an octopus as a running theme throughout the project to use some form of biomim- icry within my design but still keeping my idea in the ‘emotional design’ area, linking back more so to the psychology of art and the human nature aspect. Octopuses also protect their young to the point of death to ensure their young gets the best life. The rest of the colour palette, the reddend beige of the rest of the bowls was just a colour that I thought would go well as a colour to sit a long side the rest of the design and a colour that was eaiser to make all of the bowls sit together as a family.

Human Nature/ Animal Instinct

I am going to create a set of bowls that alone will be none functional, but toghether will balance each other out perfectly to represent how animals and humans alike need their packs to live in perfect harmony.

The set of bowls that I am creating will represtent the closesness of a family, how each individual bowl is just that, individual. They have their own unique differences and alone dont balance properly, but as a whole will sit together as a set, balancing on one another. The bowls themselves have rounded bottoms so they slightly rock from side to side or lean more to one side than the other, making them more of a sculptur-al piece, but when they are all sat as one they will have a presssed stamp down one side of them in the shape of a sucker from an octopus, each will match up when they are placed on top of each other. I chose to use an octopus as a running theme throughout the project to use some form of biomim-icry within my design but still keeping my idea in the ‘emotional design’ area, linking back more so to the psychology of art and the human nature aspect.
