Make an Impact is a national initiative that useshistory to inspire young people into active citizenship.Developed in partnership with the British Library and MLAcouncil, this cross curricular programme uses museumcollections relating to historical campaigns as an inspirationalresource to explore why and how campaigns are run.Schools are supported in teaching the communication andcreative skills necessary to run their own campaign beforeyoung people identify things they would like to change intheir own communities. The final stage of the programmesees young people developing their own campaigns andultimately putting their plans into action.

Projects can last from half a term to two terms and workwell across history and citizenship departments.Campaign! Make an Impact has been recognised by theQCA, OCR and EDXCEL awarding bodies as an exampleof best practice and also makes an excellent vehicle fordelivering aspects of the creative and media diploma.
