done in the past

HSPT Test Tips - General
• Your score is based on the number of answers you get correct, so don’t leave any blank
• If you only have a couple of minutes left on a section and more than 5 questions remain, spend the remaining time marking an answer for each question…choose the same letter answer for each one (A, B, C, D) the percentage is going to be in your favor
• Make sure:– You don’t have any stray marks on your answer sheet– Only one bubble per question– Answers should match up to the question…be careful if you skip a
question!
HSPT Test Tips How to Attack the Questions
1. Read the question quickly but thoroughly2. Examine each answer choice3. Use your pencil to cross out any answers that are obviously
incorrect4. If you can eliminate 3 choices (and therefore know the correct
answer mark that answer on your sheet and put a big X next to that question in the test booklet)
5. If you can eliminate 2/4…choose one of the remaining and put a big “2” next to it in booklet
6. If you can eliminate 1/4…choose one of the remaining and put a big “3” next to it in booklet
7. If you can eliminate 2/4…choose one of the remaining and put a big “4” next to it in booklet
HSPT – How to Attack the Questions
• If you have extra time at the end of the test go back and review your work…– Start with all the questions that have a “2” next to them– Then go to the ones that have “3”s– Finally the ones that have “4”s
• Only change an answer if your pretty sure another answer is better• Also…
– cross out answers you’re sure are wrong so you don’t re-read them– Use common sense– Rely on what you do know– Avoid choices with debatable words like (only, all, always, completely,
never, must, every and none)…but think if a question asks you to choose an answer that is NOT true a choice with a debatable word may be the right answer
– Pick the more specific choice…especially when asked for the “best” answer
