Thermography can be described as a
temperature picture
Every Colour represents a temperature.
This temperate picture will give you an in depth idea of what is happening to the component that you are looking at.

What is Thermography
• All objects emit infrared radiation .
• With a Thermal Imager we measure the amount of radiation emitted by an object by electromagnetic waves
•
• Visual Images are reflected whereas Thermal Images are emitted.
• Radiation increases with temperature. The more the object
radiates, the higher the temperature.
• Temperature is a calculation of how much energy is being radiated by an
object.
• The Thermal Camera serves as the receiver and only measures surface
temperatures
How will a Thermographer measure up when he is asked what Thermography is?
A qualified Thermographer with the necessary experience will be able to stipulate between the various testing methods, the accuracy of the results and providing consistent results through
understanding the test method.

A thermal imaging camera is only as good as the operator
WHY do you need to attend Certified Thermography Training ? It is not just about taking a pretty picture By attending Certified Training you will be provided with valuable information on
HOW to interpret what they see .
HOW to solve many costly maintenance problems in their work environment
A Certified Thermography course is an important part of becoming a skilled , practising Thermographer The American Society of Non-destructive Testing has created qualification and certification standards for
Thermography . Professional certification adheres to industry accepted and proven best practices for training and qualifying thermographers internationally.
Differentiate a qualified thermographer from a camera operator.

Level I ASNT-TC-1A A thermal imaging camera is only as good as the operator
Level 1 is the most basic
requirement anyone handling a thermography camera should have.
Level 1 certification requires the
candidate to have completed 31 hours of training, have at least 210 hours of practical experience and pass a three-part examination which includes a practical evaluation of the candidate’s ability to handle a camera.

Ultimately the demonstrated skill and knowledge along with documented training and experience required for a person to properly perform the duties is an essential part of a fully functional and effective thermography program.
Comprehensive Knowledge, skills
and Know how, combined with a documented training programme, will empower the Thermographer to become fully functional, and deliver truly effective solution
