What Are You Going to Learn Today?Just how on earth DO you create a change platform by accident?!
What happened during the pilot ‘Whose Shoes?’ maternity user experience and involvement workshops in London
• How you fit in the shoes of others…even those with different sized feet and a completely different taste in footwear?
• Local collaboration and how Midwifery Service Liaison Committees fit in.
Leap of faith
#MatExp – no hierarchy, just people!
Our #MatExp philosophy: collaboration and co-production
Why Was #MatExp Conceived?• Improving service user experience in maternity care a priority for NHS
England • Key policy drivers including the NHS Outcomes Framework, NICE
guidelines and quality standards, national Audit Office report, the 6 C’s• CQC 2013 survey, PEN maternity survey – key themes for improvement
recognised such as information provision, continuity of care, facilities • Critical to success is involving and engaging staff and service users• Essential to focus on action, work closely together and share results
