Characteristics of light bulbs – Colour

1) Colour is expressed in terms of colour temperature (Kelvins, K)

1) When substituting old bulbs for LED, not accurate to look at Watts (W)

2) The higher the lumen rating, the “brighter” the lamp will appear.

Replacing bulbs safely

Critical information

Before changing bulb, please check that:

1) Hands are dry

2) You have a stable footing for your ladder – (get someone to hold ladder)

3) Bulb that you need to change is not hot

4) New bulb has the same lumens rating as old bulb

Steps to change a bulb SAFELY

1) Switch off power

• The safest way is to switch off power at main circuit board

2) Remove bulb

• Screw type (E27/E14) – Gently twist anticlockwise until bulb comes loose

• Bayonet type (B22) – Grasp bulb, push upwards gently and turn anticlockwise until bulb comes loose

3) Replace bulb

4) Switch on power

5) Dispose old bulb

• Place it back in bulb packaging for safe disposal
