How-to set up a VPN connection to a LaundryCard Store - Windows

This page includes step-by-step instructions on how to set up a vpn connection, to LaundryCard Stores, on devices running windows 7, 8.1 and 10.

Create the Connection

1 Right-click the .Start button

LaundryCard V9 & LaundryCard Live

The default method of connecting to a LaundryCard Version 9+ store is through our LaundryCard Live website at https://live.laundrycard.. com

If a store location uses a Dynamic IP address, the LaundryCard Live service would be the sole means of access.

2 Click .Settings

3 In the Windows Settings dialog click Network &

.Internet

4 On the left hand side click VPN.

5 From the right pane, click Add.a VPN connection

6 On the Add a VPN connection box, populate the fields as follows:

VPN Provider: Windows (built-in)Connection Name: <give the connection a friendly name you will understand>Server name or address: <enter the static IP address provided by your ISP>VPN Type:  'Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)'Type of sign-in info: 'Username and password'User name (optional):  <CCI provided username>Password (optional): <your password.

7 Once the connection has been created, click the Networkicon in the System Tray(bottom-right area of the screen).NOTE: The icon will vary depending on whether your computer is connected via a cable or wireless.

8 Click on the desired connection and then click Con

Create the Connection

1 Go to Control Panel. In Tiles/Start view typing activates the search facility.  Type 'control panel'

2 Select Network and Internet.

3 Select Set up a new connection or network

4 Select Connect to a workplace > click Next

5 Select Use my Internet Connection (VPN)Create a new connection.

6 In the Connect to a Workplace dialog box, enter:

Internet address: Enter the public IP address for the store location (Contact CCI support or your Internet provider if you do not know your IP address).Destination name: Optionally enter a name for the VPN connection.

Click Create.

7 Go back to Network and Sharing Center and click Change Adapter Settings.

8 In the  tab set the following  Securityoptions:

Type of VPN: Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)Data encryption: Optional encryption (connect even if no encryption)Authentication: Allow these protocols

Unencrypted password (PAP): Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP): Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2): 

9 Click the Networking tab. Double- click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Advanced... button.

 Clear the Use Default Gateway checkbox.Click  to close theOK   Advanced

10 In the Network Connections windowdouble-click on the vpn connection.

11 Select the vpn connection and click Connect.

12 Enter your CCI provided username and password.

Create the Connection

1 Open the Control Panel on Windows 7 by clicking on Start and then 'Control Panel'

2 Click on  .'Network and Internet'

3 Next, click on 'Network and Sharing Center'.

4 Click on 'Set up a new connection or Network'

5 On the next screen (Choose the Connection Type) Click on 'Connect to a workplace' then click 'Next'

6 In the text box labeled 'Internet type the  address' IP address provided

the  Static IP address provided by your Internet service provider

In the text box labeled 'Destination give it a name such as your name' store. name

Check the  labeled checkbox 'Don't connect now, just set it up so I can

Then click the button.'Next'

7 Enter your CCI provided  and username , click .password create

Click  to 'Remember this Password'save your password as part of the connection.Click 'Create'

8 The Connection is almost ready to use, click 'close'.

9 Click on the Network icon in the System Tray

10 Click on the connection and click 'connect'

On the login screen click on 'properties'

11 Confirm that the server IP address is correct and click onto the 'Options' tab

12 After clicking on the Options tab

Uncheck 'Include Windows logon domain', if checked.

Now click on the 'Security' tab

13 After clicking on the Security tab.

Type of VPN: 'Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)'

to Data encryption: 'Optional encryption (connect even if no

Based on what kind of firewall you have at your store (Mikrotik, D-Link, Astaro, or PIX) you will determine what protocols you use.-  - ONLY check CISCO PIX 'Challenge Handshake Authentication

and all othersProtocol' Uncheck- ,  or  - Mikrotik D-Link AstaroONLY check 'Microsoft CHAP

and all othersVersion 2' Uncheck

14 Click on the tab. Select 'Networking' 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'

Click 'Properties'

15 Click on the button.'Advanced..'

16 UNCHECK the 'Use default gateway setting.on remote network'

Keep clicking till your out of all the 'OK'properties.

17 Click on the Network icon in the System Tray (as shown in photo)

When you need to connect or disconnect to your store's VPN connection, you will do it from network icon in the System Tray.

Choose your newly created VPN and click 'Connect'

Access the System

Once you are connected to the VPN, open up your preferred internet browser and go to http://10.0.0.101/CCI_0/MOption.asp? to access the system.CardNumber=99

You should now see the page just as you would if you were at the store.Manager OptionsWhen finished make sure to disconnect the VPN.OPTIONAL: Bookmark the page for quick access once connected to the VPN.
