The DL Program is supervised by the Society Chapter Technology Transfer Committee ,CTTC. Based on the yearly program budget, CTTC allocates the number of lecturer visits for each of the fourteen ASHRAE regions. The CTTC Regional Vice-Chair , RVC, for each region allocates visits to the chapters and approves visits within the region.

The current DL roster includes over 70 lecturers from 15 countries who together speak 14 languages and present over 300 topics. During the 2010-2011 Society year, 171 visits were completed to 20 countries.

4Your CTTC Regional Vice Chair allocates DL visits to the chapters in your region at the beginning of each Society year. Contact your CTTC RVC to find out if your chapter has been allocated a DL visit. Contact information for your CTTC RVC can be found on the Distinguished Lecturers webpage as noted here.

The DLs transportation to and from your event will be reimbursed by ASHRAE if the visit is approved by your CTTC RVC in advance. Local expenses such as transportation, hotel, and meals for the DL must be covered by the chapter. If your visit is not approved by the CTTC RVC, the chapter will be responsible for all expenses.

After confirming with your CTTC RVC that your chapter has been allocated a DL visit, select a lecturer from the listing available on the DL webpage.

Contact the lecturer by phone or email to confirm a speaking date, topic, reimbursement of local expenses, and payment of any honorarium requested by the DL.

Confirm the lecturers availability for additional activities during the visit. You are encouraged to contact other ASHRAE chapters and industry organizations to arrange joint events and coordinated visits to maximize the lecturers time. In an effort to contain DL program expenses, multiple chapter DL visits scheduled back-to back are counted as one allocation for the region.

After confirming the DLs availability send written confirmation to the DL with the speaking date and details.
