Composition
Drops
Each 1mL contains:
Active ingredient:Simethicone 41.2mg
Excipients:Methylcellulose, xanthan gum, polyethylene glycol, potassium sorbate, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, saccharin sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, banana green flavour, and purified water.
Properties
Salinal is highly effective in relieving the discomfort and pain due to gaseous distention in the gastro-intestinal tract. Its active component, simethicone, is a surface active agent. It acts as a dispersent of gas bubbles by reducing surface tension, destroying thereby mucosal pockets of gas which cause distress.
Indications
Salinal is indicated to alleviate the painful symptoms of excess gas in the digestive tract. Salinal is also a useful adjunct in the treatment of many conditions, in which the retention of gas may be a problem, including postoperative gaseous distention. The
antifoaming property of Salinal can be utilized during gastroscopy and bowel radiography to reduce gas shadow and enhance visualization.
Dosage
Adults and Children
Drops: :1 - 2 mL 4 times a day, after meals and at bedtime.
For diagnostic purposes, 2mL drops to be taken 3 times, one day before the examination, and 2mL drops in the morning of the day of examination.
Infants and babies (below 2 years)
0.5 - 1mL four times daily before feeds, or as directed by the physician. The dosage can be mixed with infant food or other suitable liquid to ease administration.
If you miss a dose
If on scheduled dosage regimen:
• Take the missed dose as soon as possible.
• If it is almost time for your next regular dose, wait until then and skip the missed dose
• Do not take two doses at the same time.

Contraindications
This preparation should be avoided by patients who are hypersensitive to simethicone or to any other component in it.
Precautions
Pregnancy and lactation: This medicine is considered safe as it is not absorbed into the body and is not likely to cause problems.

In the event of deliberate or accidental overdosage, treat symptoms on appearance.
