Introduction

I hope to learn how you become a doctor. The question that would lead me to finding out how you become a doctor is what are the requirements to become a doctor. I hope that this will help me determine if I would like to become a physician in the future.

What Do You Mostly Do As A Medical Doctor?

What doctors do depends on which doctor you are. Doctors mostly deal with people that have diseases and illnesses. They use equipments like stethoscopes, blood monitors, etc. They also work with other doctors.

Decide Which Doctor You Would Like To Become

- Emergency care doctors: care for patients with injuries or health problems resulting from accidents-need to get attention right away.

- Family doctors: doctors who take care and are aware of a family’s health.

- Surgeons: operate patients because of something that’s wrong with them.

- Pediatricians: doctors who care for the health of kids.

There are so many different career paths in medicine.Some common types of doctors are:

Some Specific Doctors

Anesthesiologist are doctors who authorize drugs and has control over patient’s condition during surgery.

Interventional cardiologist are doctors who use leading images to cure diseases.

Hematologist are doctors who study the problems of blood and bones.

Requirements

- One year of general biology, physics with lab, general chemistry and organic chemistry with lab, calculus and English.

- A GPA above 3.5.- A college degree.- Medical College Admissions Test score has to be good.- Four years of college and medical school.- Three years working in a hospital.

You will need to know how to ask patients the right questions and how to examine them. You will also need to know how to identify different types of sicknesses to tell the patients which one they have.

Choosing The Right Medical School

Choosing the right medical school depends on you. You have to ask yourself some questions. Such as: Do you prefer a small or large school? Which schools have a learning approach that emphasizes primary care, patient education, prevention, and preparation for community practice? If most or all of your answers are yes then this is most likely to be the right medical school for you.

Salary

Once you become a doctor you will make a high salary. Physicians are one of the several occupations that have the highest earnings. The salary you make when you’re a doctor depends on which doctor you are. For example: specialists make about $339,738 every year.

The Learning

Through this I-Search I have gained my knowledge about researching in many ways. I learned how to cite different sources. I’ve learned that when you research and you find a source that answers your question you have to be careful and not put information that you don’t need. When you find information you have to put it in your own words and not how you find it because if you write it how you found it you’re copying another person’s work. I’ve learned how to figure out which source is reliable or not.

ConclusionI have gained much knowledge about researching

through this I-Search. I’ve also learned the steps/requirements you need to become a doctor. I’ve learned about some doctors I didn’t even know about and how much doctors get paid. I also found out that I would like to become a doctor in the future. I would like to become a pediatrician because I enjoy working with kids. I also would like to become this physician because doctors are one of the several types of occupations that have the highest earnings. This info will help me get into med school because I know the requirements of becoming a doctor. It wouldn’t help me become successful in med school because I still will need to study much information. I’ve reached my goal and I now know the steps you need to do to become a doctor!
