  • Before Victorian England Christmas was a holiday not celebrated by many. They did not have Christmas trees at all. When Queen Victoria came into power and married prince Albert from Germany the Christmas tree became very popular. Prince Albert got the idea from his childhood memory's. In the London news that year was a picture of the family with there Christmas tree. The first artificial Christmas tree was made out of feathers. To decorate their tree they put burning candles and popcorn or nut garland. HOW CHRISTMAS STARTED

  • Their Christmas cards were very much like ours today but in their era Santa looked a little different, lets just say he was skinnier. The Christmas cards back then cost half a cent. CHRISTMAS CARDS

  • As you see in the picture queen Victoria hang her tree from the ceiling. For her Christmas she had 4 tables that had a tree on it and all the presents. You can go to Windsor castle and see her Christmas on display. She actually exchanged presents on Christmas eve. A person who visited the castle said the room was lit up with Christmas trees hanging from the ceiling with bonbons and Wax colored lights and artificial snow! QUEEN VICTORIA'S CHRISTMAS
