A Message from Fr. PhilipDear Brothers and Sisters,

This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, marking that moment when

God, the Father and the Son, sent the Holy Spirit to the apostles.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” (John 20:22-23)

As he sends them, he showers them with gifts of the Holy Spirit to strengthen them for the task. They must learn to work

together, utilizing all of the gifts received for the salvation of souls.

How do we use the gifts of the Holy Spirit with others in the parish to do the work of Jesus?

In the Book of Isaiah 11:2-3, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are described. In the passage the gifts are considered ones that the Messiah would have possessed. Through Jesus, we also receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Wisdom helps us recognize the importance of others and the importance of keeping God central in our lives.Understanding is the ability to comprehend the meaning of God's message.Knowledge is the ability to think about and explore God's revelation, and also to recognize there are mysteries of faith beyond us.Counsel is the ability to see the best way to

follow God's plan when we have choices that relate to him.Fortitude is the courage to do what one knows is right.Piety helps us pray to God in true devotion.Fear of the Lord is the feeling of amazement before God, who is all-present, and whose friendship we do not want to lose.

Let us pray through the intercession of Mary and Joseph for our parish to grow stronger in faith and for his blessing upon the building of our new Church. Happy Birthday!

Un Mensaje del Padre PhilipQueridos hermanos y hermanas:

Este fin de semana se celebra la Solemnidad de Pentecostés, el nacimiento de la Iglesia, que marca el

momento en que Dios, el Padre y el Hijo, envió el Espíritu Santo a los apóstoles.

Jesús les dijo otra vez: "La paz sea contigo.Como el Padre me ha enviado, así también os envío yo ". Y cuando hubo dicho esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: "Recibid el Espíritu Santo. Perdonéis los pecados les son perdonados, y se los retengáis son retenidos "(Juan 20: 22-23).

A medida que los envía, les colma de dones del Espíritu Santo para que les de fuerza para la tarea. Tienen que aprender a trabajar juntos, utilizando todos los regalos

recibidos por la salvación de las almas.

¿Cómo usamos los dones del Espíritu Santo con los demás en la parroquia para hacer el trabajo de Jesús?

En el libro de Isaías 11: 2-3, se describen los dones del Espíritu Santo. En el pasaje de los regalos se consideran los que el Mesías hubiera poseído. A través de Jesús, también recibimos los dones del Espíritu Santo en el Sacramento de la Confirmación.

La sabiduría nos ayuda a reconocer la importancia de los demás y la importancia de mantener el centro de Dios en nuestras vidas.La comprensión es la capacidad de comprender el significado del mensaje de Dios.El conocimiento es la capacidad de pensar y explorar la revelación de Dios, y también para reconocer que hay misterios de la fe más allá de nosotros.

El abogado es la capacidad de ver la mejor manera de seguir el plan de Dios cuando tenemos opciones que se relacionan con él.La fortaleza es el valor de hacer lo que uno sabe que es correcto.La piedad nos ayuda a orar a Dios en la verdadera devoción.

El temor del Señor es el sentimiento de asombro ante Dios, que es omnipresente, y cuya amistad no queremos perder.Oremos, por intercesión de María y José para nuestra parroquia a crecer más fuerte en la fe y por su bendición sobre la construcción de nuestra nueva Iglesia.¡Feliz cumpleaños!

Archdiocesan guidelines call for a period of preparation before a tentative date for the marriage can be set. QUINCEAÑERA

The duration of the preparation is one year. Every candidate must be enrolled in the youth program Edge (grades 7 and 8) or in Lifeteen (High School) and have a minimum attendance of six months while actively participating. Before you start planning the celebration of the Quinceañera, please make sure your daughter has attended or is participating in the program. RCIA- RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTSRCIA is a process for adults seeking the living God by faith, through conversion and preparation for the sacraments of baptism, communion and confirmation along with the rites belonging to the catechumenate. RCIA is also for baptized Christians who seek to enter into communion with the Catholic faith by professing the faith and receiving the sacraments of communion and confirmation. In today’s first reading we encounter the Holy Spirit who at Pentecost came rushing in over Jesus’ followers like a powerful wind. It must have been a frightening experience for them. But their great acts of prophetic witness began when the Spirit drew them out of their “comfort zones.”Jesus said the Holy Spirit, like the wind, blows where it wills; into the lives of good stewards, empowering them to perform wondrous acts of healing, reconciliation and evangelization; encouraging them to proclaim the Gospel with boldness and confidence. All of that is a little beyondthe comfort zone where most of us live our lives. This week, reflect on how the Holy Spirit may be calling you out of your personal comfort zone.

En la primera lectura de hoy nosotros encontramos al Espíritu Santo, quien, en Pentecostés, descendió sobre los seguidoresde Jesús como un viento poderoso. St. Vincent de PaulMay 15 - Pentecost

John tells us in today's gospel Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him." We are called to use the gift of the Holy Spirit by reaching out to others. Having pledged our faithfulness to this teaching, we follow the Church's call to do more for the poor. We at St. Vincent de Paul do this by feeding the hungry, providing shelter for the homeless, clothing those in need, providing funds for medical help for the sick -- by doing what we can for all who

come to our door.

During the month of March, 2016, through your gifts, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul gave out 37,650 pounds of food with an equivalent value of $64,758; $9,869 for utility bills to prevent disconnection; $4,866 for rent to prevent eviction or homelessness; $1,980 for prescriptions for those with no insurance. The Clothes Closet provided vouchers to 1,664 clients with an equivalent value of $16,640. Our volunteers served 363 meals at the Salvation Army soup kitchen. May God bless you for your generosity.

Would you like to serve the poor with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart but work during the week? St. Vincent de Paul is now open on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon to provide food and clothes to those we serve who are unable to get to us during the week. We are in need of volunteers to work the reception desk, to hand out groceries, to provide assistance in the Clothes Closet and interview those the Lord sends to us. Juan nos dice en el Evangelio de hoy Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "El que me ama, guardará mi palabra, y mi Padre le amará, y vendremos a él y haremos morada en él." Estamos llamados a usar el don del Espíritu Santo a través del acercamiento a los demás. Después de haber comprometido nuestra fidelidad a esta enseñanza, seguimos el llamado de la Iglesia a hacer más por los pobres. Nosotros, en San Vicente de Paul hacerlo alimentando a los hambrientos, proporcionar refugio a las personas sin hogar, prendas de vestir a los necesitados, la provisión de fondos para la ayuda médica para los enfermos - por hacer lo que

podamos para todos los que vienen a nuestra puerta.

Durante el mes de marzo de 2016, a través de sus dones, La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul hizo entrega de 37,650 libras de alimentos con un valor equivalente a $ 64,758; $ 9,869 por facturas de servicios públicos para evitar la desconexión; $ 4,866 en renta para evitar el desalojo o la falta de vivienda; $ 1,980 para las prescripciones para aquellos que no tienen seguro.
