    Camel lived in the desert.

    He never did any work.

    He even liked to brag about how

    lazy he was!

    But the other animals worked

    very hard.

    One day, Horse told Camel, “You

    must work like the rest of us!”

    a walk.

    He saw Dog.

    He curled his head around

    On his back there was a big hump!

    “You have said ‘humph’ too many

    times,” said the king.

    “So I have given you a hump!

    From now on you will carry

    a hump on your back.”

    And to this day, Camel still carries

    a hump with him.
