Hospital Pharmacy Division:

The brief report of HPD programmes are as follows;

1. Kolkata- Interactive session cum Seminar was arranged at PG. Hospital in 10th April 2013. The Group

discussion was held on status of Hospital Pharmacy and its improvement in West Bengal. Mr. D.K. Manna and

Dr. R.N. Gupta were the Speakers.

2. Coimbatore -Dr. Suresh Sarvedekar, Secretary HPD, and Associate Secretary IPA delivered a lecture on '

Widening Horizons for Practicing Pharmacists in Industry and Hospitals' on 5th July 2013 at P.S.G College of

Pharmacy Coimbatore.

3. Lucknow – IPA - HPD organized Seminar at Amity University, Lucknow on 4th June 2013 in collaboration with

Pharmacy dept, Amity University. Dr. Janardan Singh Director, AIP was the Chief Guest.Dr R.N. Gupta

motivated Pharmacy students to take up hospital pharmacy jobs. Mr. R.A. Gupta Hon. Secretary of the branch

also spoke on 'Importance of Pharmacy Services in Hospital’.

4. Ranchi - Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Additional Director and Head, Centre for CBRN Mitigation, Training and

Research, INMAS, DRDO, Delhi spoke on "Role of Pharmacist in CBRN Scenario" on 12th Sept. 2013 at

auditorium of BIT, Ranchi. Dr. R.N. Gupta presided over the function. Programme was sponsored by DRDO.

Dr. B.N. Sinha, Secretary IPA Jharkhand state branch proposed the Vote of Thanks.

5. Berhampur- The interactive session was held with members of IPA Orissa State Branch at Royal College of

Pharmaceutical Sc. and Allied Health, Berhampur on 12th Nov. 2013. A meeting was also arranged with IPA

Orissa State branch Secretary Mr. P. Satynarayana , Ex President Dr. P.N. Murthy , council Members and IPA

members to percolate IPA message to revive state branch and to enroll new members.

6. Ranchi -- Dr. R. N. Gupta, Chairman IPA - HPD spoke on 'Role of Hospital Pharmacists in Pharmacovigilance' on

30th November 2013 in CME at auditorium of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences. Ranchi. Dr Tulsi Mahto,

Director RIMS has inaugurated the programme. All HOD and senior Faculty members (Physicians),

Pharmacists and Nurses have attended the programme. Dr S K Tripathi, School of Tropical Medicine , Kolkata,

Dr. Bikash Medhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Prof. Janardan Sharma, Dr.(Mrs.) Shashi Bala Singh and Prof. S.S.

Choudhary, RIMS were also guest speakers.

7. Delhi -Dr. R. N. Gupta, Chairman HPD, IPA spoke on “Strategies to Strengthen Hospital Pharmacy Services” on

21st Dec. 2013 at 65th IPC, New Delhi.

8. Kolkata - Dr. R. N. Gupta, Chairman HPD, IPA spoke on 'Promotion of Hospital Pharmacy at International

seminar at Kolkata on 17th Jan. 2014.

9. Jamshedpur -A seminar was arranged on 16th Feb. 2013 Jamshedpur Hospital. Mr. J.P. Thakur Pharmacist

(Officer) delivered the lecture on 'Purchase Management of Medicines in large Hospital'. Mr. Anjani Kumar

Ex- Director Drugs Control was Chief Guest of the function.

10. Dr. R.N. Gupta, Chairman HPD was conferred 'Best Pharmaceutical Professional Award 2013 ' by Indian

Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and Technologists (IAPST) in their International conference held at

Kolkata on 16th &17th Jan. 2014 .
