HORRORResearch of horror film posters.
POSTER
The poster for woman in black
features an old-fashioned picture
of children with their eyes being
cut out. Using the children creates
a sinister atmosphere and portrays
the basis of the film. The poster is
quite plain but is intimidating to
the reader as the title ‘The
Woman In Black’ is shown in an
eerie white with a fading
background.
THE WOMAN IN BLACK
POSTER
The film sinister uses an image as its
background. The image is of a child
dragging blood across a wall with a demonic
face painted in the blood; this represents
what the film is based around as the face is
shown to lead her to draw him. The red of
the blood stands out against the grey and
black writing on the poster. The title
‘Sinister’ is given a drop shadow effect to
show a slight dripping of the letters, with it
being centred in the middle of the poster
and above the girl.
SINISTER
THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT
POSTER
This poster uses the colours of black and
white throughout with only the symbol of the
Blair Witch being shown in red; to stand out
and represent its significance. The image of
the woods is used as the background to the
poster with a negative effect – this could show
camera settings it was used to be filmed with
or the purity and darkness of the woods. A
text box is given in the middle of the poster
giving background to the story as if to show it
matter of fact-ly with the title ‘The Blair
Witch Project’ being displayed at the bottom
of the poster very simply.
