Dear Fellow Hoover Citizens and Visitors,
On behalf of the Hoover Parks and Recreation Board, we are proud to share our city
and its dedicated staff with the Hoover community. With nearly thirty area parks and
facilities to choose from, the city has unlimited recreational opportunities for residents
and visitors of all ages.
The Hoover Recreation Center is the heart of activity for the city’s parks and recreation
department. The 70,000 square foot facility hosts over 75 programs in aquatics,
athletics, fitness and therapeutics. We are one of only two cities in Alabama that
provides full-time certified therapeutic recreation programming. All of these programs
are supported with state of the art facilities and equipment including a full-size
gymnasium, fitness center, indoor pool and a 1/8 mile elevated indoor walking track
which overlooks our pool and gymnasium to allow uninterrupted access to our
members.
Adjacent to the Recreation Center is the Hoover Senior Center, an 8,000 square foot
facility with a staff dedicated to hosting numerous programs for our senior citizens. Our
Senior Center is nationally known for its senior activities and structure and completes
our commitment to serve all Hoover citizens of any age.
The Hoover Parks Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of area parks and
recreation facilities for future generations. The city has numerous sports and
community parks for the benefit and enjoyment of the community.
Please come and enjoy all that the City of Hoover Parks and Recreation has to offer.
Participate in the variety of programs and activities and see many reasons why
Hoover’s Happening!
Sincerely,
The Hoover Recreation Center is entering
its 20th year of serving the residents of
Hoover. We are excited to announce that
the facility will be undergoing $1.25 Million
