Why homelessness in an urban city?
20.2% of individuals were below the poverty line in 2010
Alabama as of 2010 was ranked as the state with the 3rd highest poverty rate
6080 people homeless in Alabama in 2009, 2167 of those people were unsheltered

According to Fox10, in Southwest Alabama, about 3-out-of-10 children aged 18 and under don't know where or when they're going to get another meal and 1 in 4 families are go hungry.

Bonding possible sight seeing. Mon-Thurs: Site-Work Friday: Site-Work, Evening exploring Mobile,
Leave for UConn Saturday: Travel, Return to UConn
Proposed Itinerary
Transportation, Program Fees, Food, Housing Projected Cost per Person: $450-$500
Through fundraising, grant, and possible USG funding these costs will be lowered.
