Year 6 Home Learning- Week beginning 4th May 2020. Hello Year 6. We hope you are making the most of your time at home and most importantly staying safe. This week we have added a full PowerPoint with all of the activities and sheets needed for the week’s home learning. It may be easier for you to download just the PowerPoint as opposed to lots of separate sheets. BBC Bitesize are now offering independent work online for children to tackle during this home learning period. Please feel free to follow their scheme and lessons if this is the best option and relieves some of the pressure of home schooling. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-lessons/1 GET ACTIVE: You can continue with Joe Wicks workouts if that is something you are enjoying. Alternatively, Mr Byrne has set up an at home fitness challenge; he has emailed parents the details and instructions. Please give this a go, we would love to see and hear about your results. MATHS: Have a go at the arithmetic test we have sent (time yourself for 30 mins and then go back after with a different pen and mark- edit any answers you got wrong).

TOPIC:

Big Question: Why is it crucial that PE is compulsory in all schools?

Remember, you can present this however you would like. Poster/PowerPoint/video etc.

P.E: create a new sports style game. Think about what resources you would need (bats/balls/hoops etc), what rules would need to be in place, how many in a team/individuals, how you ‘win’.

ART: create a drawing of a figure in motion. Think about a sport that you could depict in your drawing: running, bowling, throwing etc. Use the following youtube video as a guide to support you with this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU2_HXoAzc8

Make sure to send your teacher photos of your drawings.

Science: Read through the PPT week 3 on the circulatory system and follow the activities set. Any sheets needed are available through the email sent or on our school website.
