I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin—Mary. He suffered, under Pontius Pilate was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. AMEN.

Prayers of the People (please kneel or sit as you are able)

Invitation, Confession and Absolution Dear Friends in Christ, God is steadfast in love and infinite in mercy; He welcomes sinners and invites them to His table. Let us confess our sins confident in God’s forgiveness. (silence is kept) Most merciful God,

We confess that we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in Your will, and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your Name. AMEN.

Almighty God have mercy upon us, pardon and deliver us from all our sins, confirm and strengthen us in all goodness, and keep us in eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

And also with you. Lift up your hearts:

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Father, almighty and everliving God, at all times and in all places it is right to give You thanks and praise: through Jesus Christ our Lord, who was in every way tempted as we are, yet did not sin; by whose grace we are able to overcome all our temptations.

And so with all Your people, with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we proclaim Your great and glorious Name, for ever praising You and singing:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of Your glory.

Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest!

Blessed are You, Father, the Creator and Sustainer of all things; You made us in Your own image, male and female You created us; even when we turned away from You, You never ceased to care for us, but in Your love and mercy You freed us from the slavery of sin, giving Your only begotten Son to become man and suffer death on the Cross to redeem us: He made there the one complete and all-sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world: He instituted, and in His Holy Gospel commanded us to continue, a perpetual memory of His precious death until He comes again.

On the night that He was betrayed Jesus took bread; and when He had given thanks to You, He broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying: ‘Take, eat, this is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.’

In the same way, after supper He took the cup; and when He had given thanks to You, He gave it to them, saying: ‘Drink this, all of you, for this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.

Therefore, Father, with this bread and this cup we do as Your Son commanded:

We remember His passion and death, we celebrate His resurrection and ascension, and we look for the coming of His Kingdom.

Accept through Him, our great High Priest, this our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; and as we eat and drink these holy gifts, grant by the power of Your life-giving Spirit that we may be made one in Your holy Church and partakers of the body and blood of Your Son, that He may dwell in us and we in Him:

Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, by Whom, and with Whom, and in Whom, in the unity of the Holy Spirit:

All honour and glory are Yours, Almighty Father, forever and ever. AMEN.

The Lord’s Prayer Now, as our Saviour Christ has taught us, we are bold to pray:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name: Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth—as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial; deliver us from all evil. For the Kingdom, the power and glory are Yours—now and for ever. AMEN.

The Breaking of the Bread We break this bread:

Communion in Christ’s body once broken. Let Your Church be the wheat that bears its fruit in dying. If we have died with Him, we shall live with Him, if we hold firm, we shall reign with Him.

The Communion The gifts of God for the People of God:

Thanks be to God.

(All baptized Christians are welcome to come forward to receive the bread and wine. [Please note our Diocese does not allow the dipping of the wafer into the cup.] If you wish to refrain from either wine or wafer, or if you desire a prayer of blessing, simply cross your arms over your heart. Please let the Greeters know as you enter the church if you wish communion to be brought down to you in the congregation.)

Prayer after Communion (please kneel or sit as you are able) Let us pray: (celebrant leads)

Doxology Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine, Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. AMEN.

THE GATHERING

Gathering Hymn (see white Announcement Insert for Hymn #’s)

The Grace The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

And also with you. The Collect for Purity (please kneel or sit as you are able)

Almighty God, to You all hearts are open, all desires known, and from You no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You, and worthily magnify Your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Prayer for Outpouring (sung kneeling or sitting)

Holy Spirit, living Breath of God, breathe new life into my willing soul; bring the presence of the Risen Lord

to renew my heart and make me whole. Cause Your Word to come alive in me;

Give me faith for what I cannot see. Give me passion for Your purity;

Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me.

Holy Spirit, come abide within; May Your joy be seen in all I do: love enough to cover every sin

in each thought and deed and attitude, kindness to the greatest and the least,

gentleness that sows the path of peace. Turn my striving into works of grace;

Breath of God, show Christ in all I do. (continued)
