THE BLESSING WE RECEIVE The blessing we experience in Christ Jesus is pro-claimed in Numbers as the special blessing for the people of Israel. They and we are to be blessed by the invocation of God’s loving kindness, the shining glory of God’s face turned toward us in love, not away from us in anger. We are blessed by God’s own peace! Our wish and our hope are fulfilled in this blessing, which is made visible in the coming of Jesus. In Jesus, the im-age of the invisible God, God’s face is shown to us and God’s presence is made known to us in faithful and loving kindness. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

FAZtor’s Notes By Fr. Arnold Zamora If you read this Bulletin on Saturday (December 31st), you are a Bulletin ender. It is your last time to read a Church Bulletin for the year. If you read this on Sunday (January 1st), you are a Bulletin starter. It is your first time to read a Church Bulletin for the year. Same Bulletin, different year!

Cheers to our past, present and future! Thank God for this New Year 2012. Thank God also for the year 2011. What we have left behind, we can continue. What we have not accomplished in 2011, we can put to completion in 2012. We continue to hope, we continue to dream.

Jemima was taking an afternoon nap on New Year's Eve before the festivities. After she woke up, she confided to Max, her husband, 'I just dreamed that you gave me a dia-mond ring for a New Year's present. What do you think it all means?'

'Aha, you'll know tonight,' answered Max smiling broadly.

At midnight, as the New Year was chiming, Max approached Jemima and handed her small package. Delighted and excited she opened it quickly. There in her hand rested a book entitled: 'The meaning of dreams'. Keep dreaming! Keep hoping!

Do you know the first city to celebrate New Year’s? Sydney, Australia hosts the first major New Year’s Eve celebration each year.

Do you know what “Auld Lang Syne” means? “Auld Lang Syne” was written by Robert Burns in 1741 and literally means “old long since,” or “days gone by.” This song is traditionally sung in many countries at mid-night on January 1st, signaling the beginning of the New Year.

The best way to start the year is with a prayer with all your best wishes and great dreams for the New Year.

Somebody said this prayer: Dear Lord, So far this year I've done well. I haven't gossiped; I haven't lost my temper; I haven't

been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or overindulgent. I'm very thankful for that. But in a few minutes, Lord, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on I'm probably going to need a lot more help. Amen.

Our prayers through some of our devotions would surely help us as we journey this New Year 2012. This Friday, the first Friday of the year starts our new devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help will now be moved to eve-ry Saturday after the 9AM mass. We will also have our first Saturday Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary this coming Saturday. January 3rd, is the feast day of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. It’s our feast day! May His Holy Name be praised!
