2nd Sunday of Lent 2

“Pastor’s Weekend Message” “From the shining cloud the Father’s voice is

heard: This is my beloved Son, hear him” Matthew 17:5 As God’s children, God continually speaks to each one us. In his Son’s heart, we are his favorite children: sons and daughters of the Most High. This in fact is our reality: our personal relationship with God is and should be the most important priority in our life. All that matters in life is our relationship with the Holy One. All life’s purpose and meaning only makes sense when we make God the center of our life. All of our personal and family struggles and any of life’s challenges and difficulties can be faced when we place all of our faith and trust in the God who loves us and transforms us. Let us not lose our identity as God’s true sons and daughters. It is a fact, when we listen to God’s Son, Jesus, he makes us true disciples of the Lord. When we listen to Jesus, we are transformed by his life and his call to holiness of life. Lent is the time for our conversion, “Repent and believe in the Gospel”. May we listen to God’s Son during this beautiful time. Thank you for helping us achieve our Bishop’s Ministry Appeal goal. We need $14,782 to reach our goal. “Mensaje Pastoral del Parroco” En el esplendor de la nube se oyó del Padre: “Este

es mi Hijo, el Amado; a él han de escuchar” Mateo 17,5 Como criaturas de Dios, Dios continuamente habla a cada uno de nosotros. En el corazón de su Hijo, nosotros también somos sus hijos. De hecho somos, hijos e hijas del Dios Altísimo. También esta es una realidad de nuestra vida: nuestra relación personal con Dios es y debería ser la más importante prioridad de nuestra vida. Todo lo que in porta en esta vida es nuestra relación con Dios Santo. Todo propósito y sentido de nuestra vida solo hace sentido cuando ponemos a Dios en centro de nuestras vidas. Todas nuestras fatigas personales y familiares y cualquier reto o dificultad de la vida se pueden confrontar cuando ponemos toda nuestra fe y confianza en Dios quien nos ama y nos transforma. No perdamos nuestra identidad como hijos e hijas de Dios. Ya sabemos que es un hecho, cuando escuchamos al Hijo de Dios, Jesús, él nos hace verdaderos discípulos del Señor. Al escuchar Jesús, somos transformados por su vida y su llamado a una vida de santidad. La cuaresma es el tiempo para una verdadera conversión, se nos dijo, “arrepiéntete y cree en el Evangelio”. Ojala escuchemos al Hijo de Dios durante este tiempo de gracia. Gracias a todos por ayudarnos con la Petición Ministerial de Señor Obispo. Que Dios continué bendiciendo cada uno de ustedes siempre. Holy Family St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Tuesday, March 17, 2020

40 DAYS for LIFE Modesto will be held from February 26 - April 5 at the abortion clinic (2030 Coffee Rd). It is a peaceful, prayerful presence to bring awareness to the abortion issue. Holy Family will be participating. We need to have at least one person praying the rosary at the clinic on Wednesday’s from 8am until 5pm. The sign up sheet will be in one hour time slots. Please choose what time would work best for you and let us know so we could add you to the list. We need at least one person to always be there but there is no limit to how long you can be there or how many people. Sign up in the office or with Deacon Phil.
