509 MACHINERY & GOODS (+VAT) – AUCTIONEER JAMES MORRISH 97

Top call of the day was £11,100 given for the New Holland Tractor (12,000hrs) as part of the dispersal sale on behalf of Adrian Andrews of Muckworthy. Next up was the Massey Ferguson in from Sutcombe (L reg) which powered away to £10,900 going off to Exmoor. Messrs Kendall & Son of Liskeard saw a ‘proper trade’ for his Toyota Hilux which reached £4,550 going off to Northlew. The pick of a tremendous 24 trailers topped at £3,700 and the best of over 45 lots of harvest equipment hit £3,100 for the Krone mower.

A good line up of vehicles and equipment came in from D&I Bridgman which saw a top call of £2,900 whilst the best of 3 dung spreaders in from Phil Yeo of Lewdown reached £1,850.

Roger Young of Plymouth had a successful day with their livestock trailer hitting £1,800 with a smaller one from Ginny Knapman of North Tawton at £1,000. J&W Grigg came up from Treneglos, Cornwall to sell their water bowser well at £1,200 going off to Saltash with plenty of machinery between £500-£900 during the day.

Over 200 new tools and goods went under the hammer on behalf of Rural Excess who saw their Husqvarna chain saw top their day at £135.

Speaking after the sale Kivells Auctioneer James Morrish said “What a fantastic day! A huge amount of goods sold to a very strong trade with equipment coming from

Wales, Bristol & Yeovil and purchased by buyers from as far afield as Kent, Somerset, Exmoor & Penzance. My personal thanks must go to our wonderful team of staff who make the sale so successful and start

working to prepare the sale weeks before sale day and several days after!”

677 MACHINERY & GOODS (NON VAT) – AUCTIONEER DAVID C KIVELL

A massive entry of goods saw a huge crowd of buyers in attendance pushing the best to £4,200 for the John Deere tractor (non-runner since 2010) from one private estate near Plymouth. The same vendors also sold the SWB Landrover (non-runner sine 2002) at £800. Will Jennings of Torrington saw his International tractor reach £1,900 going off to Dolton whilst Messrs Clarke of North Tawton reached £1,650 for their Jeep 4x4. The Subaru pick up from Mill Street attracted plenty of interest (and memories) before selling for £600, whilst Messrs Easterbrook of Pyworthy sold their Passat car (07 reg, 145000 miles) at £800.

The small plant trailer from Messrs Clarke reached £590 with another from Messrs Dymond of Launceston hitting £570. The trio of Vintage Grey Fergie tractors (non-runners since 1980’s) topped at £320 with others at £280 going up the M5 with their new owners. Amongst other interesting lots Messrs Pearce of Okehampton saw their Scaffolding tower reach £500 with Frank Bottomley of Bideford going home delighted selling his Vintage hedge trimmer at £380 going off to Beaford.

Several lots of Granite included a Granite ball up from Plymouth reaching £240 with other small lots of Granite between £150-£200. 406 PET FOOD & GOODS – AUCTIONEER ANDREW VARNEY

Another excellent selection of pet food and effects on behalf of Messrs Fricker of Dorset topped at £22 (x2) with bags of peanuts at £20 with the vast majority between £8-£14. A good selection of small animal ornaments topped at £18 with most between £12-£15.

102 PIGS & GOATS – AUCTIONEER JAMES MORRISH

A nice entry saw the store pig trade jump well with the best 5-6 week old youngsters to £31 on behalf of Messrs Stacey of Cornwall. Fiona Chudley saw her large white weaners to £46 and Sophie Pooley at £45 & £44. Only 20 prime pigs forward sold to £70 for Ivor Barkwill of Milton Abbot and going off to one Taunton based Butcher. Best of the sows hit £78 for Messrs Smith of Launceston going off to Bristol.

In the goat pens a nice run in from Messrs Tamblyn of Liskeard hit £72(x4) going to one buyer from Northen Ireland with others at £66 and smaller wethers at £50. Very young store goats topped at £34 for Mr CJ Parr of St Austell. 414 POULTRY, PET FOOD & EFFECTS – AUCTIONEERS ANDREW VARNEY & TIM KIVELL

A huge entry of poultry sold to an improved trade with the overall top call of the day being £62 given for a trio of Millefleur Barbu d'ucclein from Messrs Percival with others from Messrs Mugridge at £48. Buff Pekins hit £42 for Messrs Jasper and the pick of a nice run from Mr Polhill of Halwill Junction reached £42. Terry Wills of Hallworthy saw his Indian Runner ducks reach £40 with plenty of other vendors selling between £35-£39.
