The client is a world leader in medical devices with revenue of over $20 billion The Challenge The customer was conducting a research project involving implementation of four of its IPs in the areas of ICU patient care. The objective was to enable preventive care through proactive monitoring of patient data. The solution collects enormous amount of data and then the data is analysed, interpreted and sent back to the display system for timely patient alerts.  The exchange of information was to happen in HL7 format through secured channels. The customer’s choice of integration engines was Rhapsody. It being a research initiative, dynamic changes were expected in the requirements which caused scope creep and demanded meticulous management of the complete initiative. Testing was a crucial phase and required real-time situations to be replicated before the project could be declared a success. Facilitate collection of data received from an array of medical devices in the ICU over a secured channel. Development of UI and HL7 integration for mining data from multiple ICU Medical Devices Solution Requirement The Solution Also, the collected data should be transformd into actionable information for ICU managers to help them take proactive measures for patient care. HealthAsyst was required to develop the display system using advanced Microsoft Technologies.  For this purpose, generation of test data in the absence of real medical devices was a challenge.
