    CONCEPT STATEMENT

Rinn Foster is a music professional. She wants to renovate his

city loft to t the futuristic date of 2024. She also has requested

that the space supports her love for music, more specically

inspired by the song Happy by Pharrell Williams. This song

mentions a hot air balloon. This will be emphasized in the space

by the lightweight, oating qualities of a balloon. New heights

and no limits will be emphasized in the lines, motions, and direction

throughout the design. The song is bouncy, yet smooth, and these

smooth and fun curves will be shown in the oor plan, walls, and

furniture. Pops of bright, happy colors will be shown throughout

    the space.

    PROBLEM STATEMENT

Rinn Foster is a music professional who wants to renovate his loft.

He wants the design to be centered on the song Happy by Pharrell

Williams and futuristic aspects. Problems t o think about while designing

the space include, square footage, placement of doors and windows,

privacy, security, reduced energy consumption, biodiversity, and

convenience. The design has to t within a specic square footage as

well as work around doors and windows, which cannot be changed.

Privacy is a priority to any homeowner. The design should lend privacy

from within the loft as well as thinking about outside the loft. Energyconsumption and biodiversity are important to keep in mind for this

design. Convenience is an important factor in any home when thinking

    about space planning.
