The cattery name was registered in the early 70's by Xaver Meixner in Nurnberg. Schwaiger Wappen Why?, because "Schwaiger" is a small town near Nurnberg and "Wappen" means weapon (coat of arms).

The history of the rottweiler "Schwaiger Wappen" began with the purchase of Anka Vom LohauserHolz (INT.CH ES'74 VDH-SGR BS'75KS'74 SchH III FH HD + / - Gek.b. EZA) in 1972. Anka is the result of the combination of strong dogs of that time - Champions Dack Von Der Meierei (SchH III HD + / - Gek.b.) and Tilla Vom Kursaal (SchH II HD +/-). Anka's portrait adorns the living room of the house of Meixner's and below is a portrait dedication in German Gothic that say "Anka - the founder of the Kennel. " The career Anka's exhibition was very successful. In 1972 at the age of 2 years, won the title of the ADRK Klubsiegerin in its fourth version in the town of Rottweil. Anka's sister (Asta Vom LohauserHolz) became Bi-ADRK Sieger 1975 and 1976, but had no greater importance in the reproduction. Dingo had all the major awards at exhibitions, International Champion, European Champion '82, Bundessieger German '80 and '81, ADRK Klubsieger Recomended for Breeding.

In the late 70's the Vom Schwaiger Wappen kennel works closely with the kennel Vom Zimmerplatz. In 1979 Meixner acquires the female Itta Vom Zimmerplatz, which was INT.CH WS'81KS'82 HD-Frei SchH III Gekort Bis, daughter of Cuno vom Schwaiger Wappen - SchH III FH HD-Frei Gekort Bis and Assy Vom Haugenfeld (INT. VDH-SGR KS'78'79 CH SchH I HD-Frei). Itta had a unique destination, "she came to set the type of dog Vom Schwaiger Wappen. The combination "Dingo + Itta" was repeated twice provided the quality (Osko, Orpheus, Olfa) in 1982 and 1983 (Santo, Simmy, Sandra, Solvey, Sita, Sasha). I'm not afraid to call the combination Dingo + Itta, as the golden duo of the last century, so that their descendants showed and continue in the breed after more than 15 generations.

Even in the eighties, the descendants of Dingo + Itta had the qualities we wish to see in dogs today: - "dogs of large size, strong bone, good angles and psychologically balanced" -. Many of the descendants of Dingo and Itta had successful Koerung test (Santo, Orpheus, Nancy to name a few), the dog that got as much recognition of that combination was Santo (INT.CH WS'86 SchH III FH AD IPO IIIHD + / - Gekort Bis), '86 World Champion and International consolidate his fame later with his son Benno VD Schwarzen Heide (INT.CH WS'90 ES'90 BJS'87 Ö-BS'89 SchH III FH AD IPO ZTP HD-Frei III), World Champion, European Champion, German Champion, Bundessieger, Internacional.Osco and Orpheus were also excellent and gave rottweiler dogs of good quality. A grandson of Ives dog, very big, very strong bone, heavy. A dog of 60 pounds or so, a massive head, dark eyes, a long skull of 18 cm, 68 cm at the withers, 80 cm in length. Hassan was a great player from the 80's and was used by many breeders to set size, mass and strength.

The highlight of the combination "Itta + Hassan" was Zeck Vom Schwaiger Wappen (INT.CHES '89 '90 Ö-BS'89 SchH I AD ZTP HD-Frei), European two-time champion, Austria, International and Bunni Vom Schwaiger Wappen (IPO SchH I FH I BH ZTP HD-Frei).

Itta completed their reproductive years in 1987, having produced wonderful litters of high quality. Meixner family jealously guard her trophies and photographs. But the best memorial to Itta are undoubtedly her descendants. Nancy did not breed famous or known dogs, but her daughters called Vicky Vom Schwaiger and Vinnu Vom Schwaiger Wappen Vinnu played an important role in the future of farm Meixner.

On June 17, 1987 was born litter "D", which was famous for copies as Danjo, Don, Dingo II, Dux, Donna and Dina. On January 7, 1992, Vicky had the litter "R" and was crossed with Doc Von Der Teufelsbrücke (son of Benno), INT.CH Ö-KS'95 SchH III FH AD BH HD-Frei Gekort bis. Thus was born Rena Vom Schwaiger Wappen (SchH III FH AD BH IPO III HD-Frei Gekort bis EZA), who remained in the kennel and is the mother of King Kessy and Maya to name a few offspring

In the early 90's, Vom Schwaiger Wappen works with the young talent as breeder Bern Oswald from the affix Von Der Teufelsbrücke. There was a fruitful exchange of dogs. Xaver bring two dogs in his kennel, Claudia Von Der Teufelsbrücke (daughter of Benno vd Scwarzen Heide + Golda Vom Sonnerberg) was SchH III AD BH HD + / -

ZTP and Dorle Von Der Teufelsbrücke (sister of Doc and grandaughter of Benno), INT. / ES'92 DT.VDH-CH SchH III FH AD KS'92 BHHD-Frei ZTP. Almost simultaneously Xaver gets other daughter called Bessi Vom Benno Talblick (SchH III FH AD BH IPO III HD + / - ZTP). Thus, in the mid 90's the kennel closed his breeding only foster daughters Benno which are the basis of who works the kennel today (his daughter Claudia W. Meixner).

Most of the most successful combinations were from Bessi Vom Talblick with Willi Vom Neubrand (SchH III AD BH HD-Frei bis EZA Gekort from a linebreeding on Dingo) and Grief Vom Norden Oberhausen (SchH III AD BH IPO III HD-Frei Gekort bis EZA), son of Xenia VomSchwaiger Wappen). From Bessie and Grief went Westus and Vaith Vom Schwaiger Wappen (INT. / DT.VDH-CH SchH III FH I AD BH IPO III HD-Frei Gek.b. EZA). Vaith was kept in the kennel and Westus was exported to Russia. Vaith was German and International Champion and was widely used in Alemania. Westus was Russian champion and gave excellent dogs in the short time he breeding, as he died early.

From Bessi crossing x Grief (son of an excellent working dog named Ken Vom Sternbogen (SchHIII FH AD BH IPO III ZTP HD-Frei) whose mother is Xenia Vom Schwaiger Wappen, born Aki Vom Schwaiger Wappen II, one of the females which is basis at present.From Dorle Von Der Teufelsbrucke and Orso Vom Kressbach (SchH III FH AD BH IPO III HD-Frei Gek.b. EZA), was born a beautiful female named Cleo Vom Schwaiger Wappen (SchH III FH I AD BH IPO III HD-Frei ED-Frei Gek.b. EZA) and his brother Charly Vom Schwaiger Wappen (SchH III AD BH HD-Frei Gekort bis) who went to Hungary.

In 1995 the Kennel Name "Vom Schwaiger Wappen" takes his daughter Claudia and is separated into 3 breeders, kennel related,

Vom Schwaiger Wappen (of his daughter Claudia), "Vom Schwaiger Rathaus" (from Xaver) and "Vom Schwaiger Schloss" of Xaver Meixner and Leni Meixner.

The new Kennel Vom Schwager Rathaus Meixner, repeated three Sometimes the combination Vaith + Cleo, one between King Vom Schwaiger Wappen and Cleo. An offspring of this combination is in Russia. One of the most successful litters was between Noris Vom Gruntenblick and Rena Vom Schwaiger Wappen, thus born April 9of 1996, the famous and multi Champion King Vom Schwaiger Wappen (INT. / DT.VDH-CH Ö-KS'00 FCI -ES '00 SchH III FH I AD BH IPO III HD-Frei ED-FreiZTP). Ferres + Aki, born Lauser, Laura and Lexa. The most successful litter Aki Vom Schwaiger Wappen II was with Brutus Von Der Hammerschmiede (BS'96 SchH III FH I AD BH IPO IIIHD-Frei ED-Frei Gekort bis), where the July 9, 1997 was born the World Champion, International , Bundessieger, German, Brazil Grand Champion called Onex Vom Schwaiger Wappen (ADBH SchH / IPO III HD-Frei ED-Frei ZTP, today in Brazil). His sister Oddesa is an important part of the new generations of breeding Vom Kummelsse.Were also born promising dogs cross between Rick Von Burgthann and Pascha Vom Schloss Obergrombacher.

This is the present and the past of the famous kennel Vom Schwaiger Wappen and its legacy throughout the world. It is also important to remember the historical fact Vom Schwaiger Wappen dogs because their dogs have influenced many other well known breeders as Von Burgthann (the first rottweiler of Erwin Busl was Karo Vom Schwaiger Wappen), Vom Hirschenrangen (owner of Dingo Vom Schwaiger Wappen), Vom Norden Oberhauser (where Xenia Vom Schwaiger was the basis of females) and many other German breeders.

The Rottweiler Vom Schwaiger Wappen are in the vast majority of modern genealogy.

Xaver Meixner formed the basis of his Kennel and provided to the rottweilers the prosperity and love we see today. His work is a classic education and upbringing.The work of the Meixner family was succeeded by his daughter Claudia in charge of the original Kennel.

Searched in old books and ancient books of German breeding, I tried to find a witness to the activities of this great breeder, with so much dedication to this breed and with such brilliant results throughout the world.

Finally, this paper reports part of the history of the largest breeder of contemporary breed, where a number of lessons have we come from, for example:

1 .- How, from a female and selective breeding work privileging the quality versus quantity, Meixner succeeded in founding an empire over time.

2 .- Meixner from the beginning and until today, has favored reproductives with excellent working skills in addition to the virtues phenotypic and clean bloodlines for hip dysplasia. As in the Germany of that time there was no impediment to use stallions from other countries, examples of Austria and Denmark were used then.

3 .- The selection method of improving the breed used by Meixner in most of their crosses was the linebreeding, which after a time it has always been on samples of their own bloodlines. Outcrossed eventually has to increase hybrid vigor but then returns on a dog of their breeding, generally

4 .- Meixner, privileged upbringing to maintain the best females of their own kennel or acquiring other breeding females, based on their own bloodlines. This humility to recognize that others have achieved success with its pillars, which ennoble and make larger. You might also be a technique for when you need something else but that comes from our blood lines (and we know well our own work)

5 .- The clarity Meixner has remained for more than 3 decades in breeding, marking in many stages the type of rottweiler to be breeding. It only denotes clarity of the goals outlined in its Plan Breeding.

I think these last 5 points, we must mature and internalize them in our own breeding plans in order to achieve racial improvement needed on this side of the world. Not merely aesthetic can be more important than the working qualities, temperament, hip dysplasia control, the health of our animals, etc. Xaver Meixner is undoubtedly the most recognized and respected breeder worldwide. Will always be an important part of the history of contemporary rottweiler.
