Let Love Rule -Title track reached the #89 on the Billboard charts and #5 on the modern rock charts.

I Built This Garden Second single reached #25 on the modern rock charts. The album came out on September 19, 1989 under the Virgin Recording Label, and the album was made in the Waterfront Studios. The song sharing the title with the album name shows that Love was the main point of the album. Some songs were inspired by artists like John Lennon and Prince and share similar outlooks of life such as peace. Wife, Lisa Bonet, wrote lyrics to the songs named Fear and co-writing another song on the album called Rosemary. On the album, Lenny Kravitz was responsible for vocals, guitar, organ, bass, drums, and percussion. Some of the fellow musicians were Adam Widoff on the guitar, Eric Delente with the violin, Alfred Brown on the viola, Nancy Ives on the cello, Lee Jaffe on the harmonica, Karl Denson with the sax, Henry Hirsch played the piano and the organ. The backup singers were Tisha Campbell, Jean McClain, and Yolanda Pittman. The music engineers were Henry Hirsch, David Domanich, Jeff Goodman. 2Let love ruleIf I had to associate myself with one song, it would probably be Let Love Rule. Its so simple and to the point. WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND REACHED TOP #40The next year, Lenny had a number one song featured on Madonnas Immaculate Collection Album, Justify My Love. The next album in 1991, Mama Said, 2 made it all the way to the 40th spot on the Billboard Charts. This albums inspiration was of the divorce between him and Lisa Bonet. Two of my all time favorite songs on this album, It AInt Over Till Its Over which made it to the 2nd and Stand By My Woman, that made it to the 40 on the charts. On this album he did the song, Where Are We Runnin, with his former classmate Slash. This album was his first Platinum Album and he won the MTV award for Best Male Video.

This song is so beautiful because it is inspired by a true event. You can hear the love for this woman in his voice.

Lenny loved his mother very much. His parents divorced in 1985 because his fathers many affairs. Roxie Roker became ill with cancer and she died December 2, 1995.7

His next album, Circus in 1995 came out in a tough year for Lenny. His mother had been struggling from cancer and some songs he wrote inspired by her. This album did fairly well on the charts making it to #10 with only two singles. One of the singles being, Cant Get You Off of My Mind, another one of my favorites. This whole time while I listening to the song I thought he was speaking of a love interest but now I know it was about his mother.

8CANT GET YOU OFF MY MIND"Can't Get you Off My Mind" was a song I wasn't sure about because, when I wrote it, I thought, "This is a country song." But, I love music. You know, I'll make any style work for me. Yeah, the song is about having everything that you've got. Being wealthy, being able to go around the world. Being able to have everything at your fingertips. But you're lacking love. Not from within, but from another individual. And it's really relevant, having all this success and everything is wonderful, but not having someone to share it with, that understands you, that really cares about you. You can share it with lots of people, but that one person who really understands who you are, when you don't have that, it there's not much of a point

A rocker gone country cant get any better. Some of the favorite parts of the song are listed beneath. 0:00 Instrumental IntroductionThis song has similarities to a country song, which is very different for Lenny Kravitz because he usually does rock songs. Instruments in this song are the drums, electric guitar, and vocal. The tempo is moderately slow through out the whole song and it sounds very dramatic like it is a sad song. Song played in a major mode.0:18 First VerseLennys voice is very strong and seems like he is pleading for his love. After the first four lines of the first verse he adds in another track of his voice. He mirrors his voice but just in another octave so that is has a sweet melody when played together. 0:48 ChorusVery similar to the first verse where he mirrors his voice to have a nice melody. Which also creates a feeling of love when you include the words. Then for the last line of the chorus to make it stand out, he just sings it solo without the instruments. 1:19- Break Same instruments play as the intro to the second verseLenny does sing and the guitar does a cool thing where it goes up in the background.
