    UMOROUS fantasia, descriptive of a Coon's

    wedding. The first record represents the Hcoon awakening on his wedding morn, and

    his setting out for the joyful ceremony, an amus- ing caricature of the Wedding March occurring in

    this section. The second record includes an immensely funny representation of the marriage ceremony, the voice of the clergyman being

    represented by the notes of the bassoon, the answers of the bride by the flute, and of the bride-

    groom by the trombone. The whole is full of humorous musical effects, wedding bells, casta- nets, and contains some fresh negro melodies. (Speed 81.)Published

    H ENRY PURCELL, once organist of West-

    minster Abbey, is England's greatest composer, and this song is an example of

    the lightness and joy which belong to many of his compositions. Written somewhat in the Handelian style, Purcell, who preceded the Saxon composer, is, if anything, superior to Handel in his treatment of it. Miss Ada Forrest sings this with much spirit and vocal charm. It is a capital performance of Purcell's famous song. (Speed 81.)
