T his program will cover current HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Rules, with an emphasis on paent access rights, and emerging issues in cyber security, devices and technology issues, social media consideraons, and the enforcement and liability risks for HIPAA covered enes and business associates. Target Audience: The program is designed for compliance professionals, privacy and security officers, chief informaon officers, risk managers, in-house counsel, and others with responsibilies for HIPAA compliance. The session will provide a working knowledge of HIPAA requirements to those new to this area, as well as being a refresher for those currently involved. At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to: • Describe breach rule requirements and clarificaons. • Discuss business associate and subcontractor obligaons. • Describe regulator emphasis on security risk assessments and security planning. • Describe the types, and scope of policies needed to maintain compliance. • Explain the requirements (and fee restricons) for providing access to records.
