FOR INTENDING RESIDENTS IN THE TROPICS.

One is not infrequently asked by friends about to go to the tropics for the first time to recommend books, and while some few suitable publications exist this newcomer will be welcomed, for it is in certain ways distinctive. Written in the form of letters to a friend the style conveys that personal element which adds to the value of the subject matter. The particulars given are, moreover, just those on which enlightenment is usually sought.

The advice is clear, concise and sound and covers most of the points on which information is generally required by a small family venturing on a sojourn abroad for the first time. The little volume should serve a useful purpose and may be recommended with confidence to those requiring such a book.
