leadership, and individual leadership.• The simulation is an abstraction of reality – use
it as a laboratory for learning!

• Medium-sized produce company located in California, selling produce to customers across the United States.
• Family-owned business founded in the 1930s by Simon Gordon.
• The CEO today is Simon Gordon III, the third generation of Gordon family leadership.
Your Role
• Manager of Business Development and Retail/Foodservice Sales
• Report to the Vice President of Operations and manage a team of associates
• Work closely with other functions in the company to get things done

Workshop 1 Assignment
In workshop 1, you will hear about the strategic objectives of your company, and your boss will give you a set of business development objectives.
Assignment: Choose 3 or 4 of the objectives your boss has given you and create SMART goals for executing them. Be sure to link each goal to one of the higher-level strategic objectives of the company.
