INTRODUCTIONTo use a camera detector, you simply look through the device’s lens and press

a button to start emitting flashes of red light. The light reflects off any hidden

camera’s sensor, appearing as steady flares of red.

During the last few years the number of surveillance cameras has grown out

of bounds. Cameras have been installed in many public and semi-public places

such as universities, streets, supermarkets, gas stations, parking garages, cinemas,

bars, shops, busses, train stations and even discos. About 25 million CCTV

cameras are estimated to be in operation worldwide at the time of writing . Some

countries, notably Great Britain, are trying to fully cover every corner of public

life with cameras. The Privacy International CCTV states that between 225 and

450 Million Dollars are spent on surveillance technology in Britain per year,

involving an estimated 300.000 cameras. These efforts result in a person driving

through the city of London being filmed at least once every five minutes. In the

near future cameras may even be installed in all taxis, keeping an eye on the

passengers.

STEP-1:- Cut two pieces of red vinyl plastic from the basket:

•Cut one piece of red vinyl plastic the same size as the flashlight lens

•.

Page 5: Hidden camera detector

•Cut the other piece of red vinyl plastic about an inch larger than the inner core of the toilet paper roll.

STEP-2:- Disassemble the flashlight lens

assembly. Attach the smaller piece of cut red vinyl

plastic to the flashlight, as shown here. Then re-

assemble.

STEP-3:- Create slits. Make 1/2" (12.7 mm) slits around

the edge of the larger piece of red vinyl plastic.

•Cut the toilet-roll in two, and make two 1" (2.5 cm) slits

in it, as illustrated Tape red vinyl plastic and put the other

half of the toilet-roll over it. Tape the two halves together.

the toilet-roll over it. Tape the two halves

together.

STEP-4: Tape this tube to the flashlight and

finished.

You may want to use a better kind of tube if you

want to use the detector more than once or keep it

in a bag/purse.

STEP-5:- Look through the tube. Any camera lens

will light up as the flashlight shines on it. This is

illustrated with the hidden camera in the video.

How to make

Page 10: Hidden camera detector

Principle It works on the phenomena where

the light reflected from a focused optical system is reflected along the same path as the incident light.

Hidden Camera Detector help how to detect pin hole camera or hidden camera.

Flash the light if a hidden camera is illuminated and viewed by the

detector then a strong reflection from the target camera will reveal its position to the user.

It may not be obvious right away why it could be of any importance to anyone to be able to locate hidden cameras.

Some will reason that concealed cameras are more or less exotic and thus knowledge on how to find them is not necessary at all.

Our design uses extremely simple ideas and mechanisms to achieve a complex set of

actions and is intended to imitate the actions of the operators. However, these

“HIDDEN CAMERA DETECTOR” is a great weekend project for the hands on person.

Also hidden camera detectors can be purchased online or from an electronics store, but

you can save a good amount of money and have a lot of fun making your own hidden

camera detector at home.

The mechanical parts that have been fabricated are extremely simple.

•Very easy to use.

•Even have to be on for detector to work, but you will need to see through the detector

basically in the camera's field of view.

•However, someday, if you are ever in a situation where you think someone might be

watching you, you’ll hopefully remember this article and the information will be

helpful.
