HeyDoc Healthcare

“A better and an innovative way to get Medical Assistance”

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Q.1 Describe the need / challenge / problem faced that resulted in the innovation.

• Our idea "HeyDoc“ will impact and nourish the lives of people in villages/town/rural/semi-urban, who don't only lack basic

amenities but also die from diseases like Food poisoning, Cough & Cold, Rabies etc., which could have been easily and instantly cured

by home remedies but due to lack of nearby healthcare centres nearby and no instant medical expertise were given, many lives were/are going in vain. By providing people a virtual doctor and

medical expertise on their cell phones/smartphones, we will change the dynamics of how the healthcare industry works, And

generate new links between the Doctor and the patient!

Q.2 Describe the innovation introduced in ICT space which will help resolve the problem stated above and create positive impact.

• Hey Doc is a mobile chat/messenger application. Web apps completely rely on their servers. And for developing a Multi-OS

application for Android/iOS/Blackberry/Windows a team of coders and web developers will be needed. To maintain and run the app

hassle free, a team of tech professionals will have to be set up. Other than the tech side, rigorous marketing/promotion and

campaigning will be necessary to make the doctors students and veterans aware and to start using the app, also for the

customers/patients to acknowledge them about this tremendous concept.

Q.3 Describe how technology was used to enable or support the innovation. As part of this

answer, you must mention whether the technology was purchased, modified or

developed.

• Hey Doc currently has a working prototype on the Android platform. Hey Doc currently is in its design and development stage

for other mobile operating system like iOS, Windows and BlackBerry. We even tend to launch a multi-language app on each OS, easily accessible on all kind of smart phones. For development

of 'Hey Doc' mobile application we intend to hire software developers and coders in future.

Q.4 Describe up to 3 key benefits / impact areas of implementing the innovation. Explain how the

innovation benefitted/will benefit the community / stakeholders involved, how it

helped/ will help in solving the problem stated and created/ will create positive impact. The

benefit may be across one or more of the following stakeholders – participating

organization / community / environment / government / regulator / others. In each case,

describe the previous situation of the community / stakeholders and then how innovation altered the situation of the

stakeholders.

The Impact on Stakeholders

We all know that you just cant cure a disease like cancer on a mobile app. But cant a person whose

daughter is poisoned by a snake bite can be informed by a doctor on HEYDOC and be informed of basic precautions like a patient shouldn’t sleep after a

snake bite and many more! First of all, Every doctor/veteran/medical student who registers will

have the opportunity to chat with patients and showcase their medical portfolio in their profile

section.

Consumer/Patient

Doctors/Veterans/Medical Students

Doctors will have the opportunity to show a copy of their medical degrees, clinic address, medical achievements and basic

information of the doctor. Which will ultimately help the doctor to promote their selves and expand their user base. So doctors will have to subscribe for a monthly/yearly plan to keep prescribing

people after a free trial period. We had a survey with doctors in our city Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Question were like would you spare time to attend patients online/chat with them in return Hey Doc will give help you promote your services online. We even had a

question how much would you pay Hey doc to on a monthly basis, to promote yourselves and help patients online.? A rough estimate came about 500-1000 Rupees per month. That is around 60k to 1.2

L annum/per doctor. Many medical students and veterans were excited regarding this new initiative!

Pharmaceutical Companies

India's pharmaceutical sector is quite flourished, and none other than "Healthkart" has exploited the

opportunity to sell medicines online. I have annexed a photo of how we envision selling medicines on the go

by just a click. If a doctor recommends a name of a particular medicine , our servers will proofread the name, and show the medicines photo along with a

buying option just below it. So a revenue system can be put up by hooking up with pharmaceuticals

company to sell their meds online, that too with definite customer demand on their way. A complete

new logistics for medicines will have to be set up, and is a great opportunities for various medical houses!

Q.5 What factors, internal or external, are going to act as the main drivers for your innovation and the current market for it? For E.g. Policies, Technology adoption, Consumer behaviour etc.

• Hey Doc being a social venture, the revenue model will completely rely on pharmaceutical companies and doctors. It will be completely free to the end

user/consumer/patient. India is right now in an internet boom period. Not only e-commerce is at a flourishing stage, but also different social media platforms

and various different internet services are seeing never before customer engagement on their websites/applications. Mobile internet/Smartphones play

a vital role to empower people with a utility which is changing dynamics for various industries. So why not the healthcare too? And that too for such a

wonderful social cause which deals with people's health, that no one wants to compromise with. A fresh step by our respected Prime minister Mr. Narenda

Modi and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's :Internet.org intends to bring internet to every village and want people to connect all over our country.

Q.6 What are some of the risks expected and what is the plan for mitigation?

• Exit options: Well being highly optimistic for "Hey Doc' which will cater all the patients needs & wants on the go.. The Exit option would simply be when every

patient would have been cured. We have no plans of shutting it down , and we have plans to spread it like an epidemic in the near future. But for the sake of an answer : If in future there is a lot of pressure from investors ( this could not happen we guess cause the revenue plans are totally capable of breaking even in the near future), But still if we build a situation that there is a lot of pressure from the investors, Merging up with local hospitals, Each and every local doctor plus various diagnostic centres would be the best plan to act as an pushing force for Hey Doc! By this decision in

future we will not even neglect our customers and the user base, Instead the service will have more assistants to assist the consumers by this plan. We can have MOU's with local hospitals which will tend to work with us, and completely change how healthcare works In this way investors will not have to bear any losses. So in bad

times, this plan can always work. But still sticking to my first point, Hey Doc will not have any situation to pack up, instead it will grow at a tremendous rate, adding up doctors from each and every city, town, village and only exit option left would be

when every patient in India would be disease free! :)

Q.7 How do you see the project evolving over the next three years? What are the

various milestones you foresee? Mention up to three milestones planned for or foreseen.

• Well first of all, I Yash Bodane being a graduate in economics, has no base of web development/

computer science. I have started to learn it in my free time, yet I'm not an adept in it. To implement this

tremendous idea, we first of all want to co-operative and a smart team for execution. Our milestone in the coming months will be to set up a team and to start making doctors/patients aware of Hey Doc! A multi-

language/Multi-Operating System Mobile Application is our first milestone, Hopefully to be achieved in this

year only!

• Our second milestone will be to reach out to every doctor/veteran and medical student from rural to urban areas. By notching them up will

give us specialists from a wide range of category. That means each and every type of specialists from Skin, Ladies, General, Orthopaedics,

Dermatologist etc. Once we have a strong base of medical expertise available, people can start using the app and chat to doctors of medical help! Once the ship sails, Number of users and medical

experts can be increased with various strategies.

• Our third milestone, Which we personally see in the next 3-5 years is that people relying and trusting Hey Doc as their medical/healthcare

guidance. People completely relying on Hey Doc for small health problems and depending on it for medical expertise on the go! By

providing people a virtual doctor and medical expertise on their cell phones/smartphones, we will change the dynamics of how the healthcare industry works, And generate new links between the

Doctor and the patient!

Do you plan to register this project/venture in the future? If yes, do you plan for this organization to be a Not for profit or For-Profit (Social) enterprise?

• Definitely we want to register this project in the coming time! "Hey Doc" group to become the leader in giving world class assistance to patients on their smartphones. To build an alluring brand to deliver

exceptional value to all the stakeholders. We surely see Hey Doc as an For Profit(Social) enterprise in the coming period!

What is your scale of operation? (Number and name of cities, geographical locations in India,

community, etc.)• We basically belong from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Right now we our

in prototype stage , and are testing the idea on various segments. We have been doing various questionnaires, email surveys, telephonic

surveys, basically targeting Doctors/Veterans/Medical Students and Consumers/Patients in cities like Indore, Bhopal, Rewa(M.P), Mumbai

and Delhi. Other than telephonic interviews and questionnaires we have been physically travelling to various rural areas in Madhya

Pradesh to see the affordability and accessibility of healthcare. Our goal is to present our self in each and every urban/ sub urban/ rural

areas of India to act as a better healthcare guide, And providing a medical assistance on the go! In the coming time our goal is to serve each and every individual across each geographical location in India,

through our mobile app, which can definitely be possible as the mobile internet penetration is surging at an escalating rate!

Factors for Scalability• First of all, To mention the vertical scalability- Registering

Doctors/Veterans/Medical Students will be the key factors of the vertical scalability. More the doctors on HEYDOC, Lesser the wait time for the

customers. And lesser the wait time for the customers, That will eventually act as a good word of mouth and appreciation in the segment which will ultimately help to develop a trustworthy and virtuous brand.

• Secondly, The horizontal scalability - Hey Doc is a mobile chat/messenger application. Web apps completely rely on their servers. And for
